Conway Animal Welfare Unit is contracted by the government as the primary animal rescue and control entity, responding to instances of strays, abuse, or lost animals in the Conway area. In order to prevent these issues, the Conway Animal Welfare Unit adheres to a strict spay and neuter program. They hold classes monthly to train new volunteers and rely a lot on the support of their community to make sure dogs and cats are socialized adequately.
Focusing on the process of rehabilitation, ArkanPaws Animal Rescue relies on their foster network to work with their rescues to best prepare animals for their forever homes. Not only does ArkanPaws serve Conway, but they are always one of the first to lend a helping paw to their neighboring shelters and rescues when resources are running thin. Three thousand saved animals later, and ArkanPaws has expanded its network to a location in Rhode Island to further its message that animals are not disposable.
The Humane Society of Faulkner County is a non-profit serving Conway and its surrounding neighborhoods. HSFC exists primarily to raise funds to supplement veterinary care for animals that need it the most. They host programs catering to abandoned and injured animals with a low cost subsidy project and pet owners in a financial bind in need of food. HSFC also has a low cost spay-neuter program to further prevent the existing overpopulation of dogs and cats in Conway.
