Give a Wag! Gives to Smyrna Shelters

Smyrna, Georgia, lies just outside of Atlanta, which contributes to the area’s homeless pet population. While animals are out on the streets, animal shelters will be around to help care for them. The homeless animals in Smyrna are lucky that there are a couple shelters in the area that will provide care and food to them while they wait for new homes.

Best Friends Pet Adoption Center is a no-kill animal sanctuary with locations all across the country. The organization’s goal is to end pet homelessness. Part of their mission is to end unnecessary euthanasia in shelters throughout America. Best Friends’ Pet Adoption Center in Atlanta houses numerous cats and dogs that are waiting to find their new homes. The organization is steadfast in its mission to end puppy mills, which contribute to the homeless animal population in the United States. The group also works hard to help cats and pit bulls, both of which are killed in a disproportionately high number in animal shelters, get a second chance.

The Humane Society of Cobb County was founded in 1957 with the goal of providing assistance to animals in need. With the help of donors and volunteers, the Humane Society of Cobb County is able to care for a large number of animals each year. In addition, the organization also helps lost pets find their way home and provides low-cost spay and neuter services to those in the area that can’t otherwise afford to pay for the procedure.

If you live in the Smyrna area and want to adopt a pet, contact one of these shelters today. You are sure to find a great pet at either shelter.
