Give a Wag! Gives to Strongsville Shelters

Berea ARF (Animal Rescue Friends) is one of Ohio's largest no-time-limit shelters, and has been for over 29 years! If you are looking for a new family member, and are ready for the commitment of providing a secure, loving, respectful home to your new pet, they would love for you to meet some of their furry faces. The staff at ARF has made a lifetime commitment to each member of their fur family under their care and want nothing less than for them to find a fur-ever home and a second chance at being part of a family.

If you'd like to volunteer or foster, contact the shelter and they will be happy for the help. If you'd like to make a monetary donation or bring in cleaning products, paper towels, dog and cat beds, crates, flea preventative, collars, leashes, high-quality food and treats, or toys - whatever you can give, ARF will put it to great use. Don't forget, your donation is tax-deductible!

They have many great programs to help socialize the pets in their care and to educate the community about the proper way to treat, care for and respect all animals. ARF sponsors a prison foster program that benefits both the handlers and the animals in very profound ways; a seniors for seniors program that matches more mature adopters with more mature pets! Anyone over 65 years old may adopt a cat or dog over 7 years of age for half the regular adoption fee. They also have a program called, "Under the Wing", which helps people and their pets stay together, especially through emergencies such as domestic violence, hospitalization, and foreclosure.

Animals give us all so much; all they ask in return is to be loved. Do some good and give a little piece of your time and heart. They deserve it all!

Old doggos like to party too! No one knows this better than the kind folks over at The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs. Every year, they throw an absolutely paw-tacular bash dedicated to pooches with silver in their fur. Bring your senior woofer to check out the fun! Make a paw print painting, get your good boy or girl a massage, or have them participate in the Old Dog Olympics, with strolling and wandering encouraged over running and jumping! After all of the fun, your four-legged friend and you can head on over for some vegan refreshments - and ice cream!

Santa Paws is coming to town! Bring your furry babies to nearby Berea area Pet Valu stores on Saturdays in December for pictures with Santa! Make sure you help Fido with his wish list so he can let Santa know what he wants this year - you know he is on the nice list, so get plenty of paper! The fee is $10.00 and will get you a 4x6 keepsake photo with your furry friend and Santa Paws himself! All proceeds go to Berea Animal Rescue Friends, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Grab the silly Santa hats or reindog ears and head to Pet Valu in December - the mantel needs another photo of your best furry buddy!
