Give a Wag! Gives to Weatherford Shelters

Weatherford is located 30 miles west of Fort Worth, Texas. As a suburb of the DFW area, Weatherford is no stranger to homeless animals. While these animals wait to find new homes, the animal shelters in the area provide a place for them to stay, as well as food and medical care. Two of these shelters are the Weatherford Animal Shelter and Parker Paws.

The Weatherford Animal Shelter’s mission is to find permanent homes for adoptable pets and livestock in the Weatherford area. This shelter believes that no animal should be hungry, thirsty, injured, or in fear. For these reasons, the shelter brings in animals and provides them with any medical care that they need. The organization also works with the community to teach locals about proper animal care to prevent homelessness and abuse of animals in the region.

Parker Paws is a non-profit animal welfare organization that opened in 2007 with the goal of rescuing animals from other local shelters and the streets with the purpose of re-homing them. With the help of public donations and volunteers, Parker Paws is able to provide food and medical care to dozens of animals each year. While the organization doesn’t have a shelter location, it uses foster families to help shelter the animals until they can be placed in permanent homes.

If you live in the Weatherford area and are looking for a new pet to add to your household, consider visiting one of these organizations to find the perfect pet for your family!
