PorktoberQue
PorktoberQue is a pet-friendly beer and barbecue event that is held in September. Grab your friends and your pooch and come eat delicious meat polished off with a nice, cold beer. To keep the doggos off of the grill, all pups must be on a leash. Walk around the event to burn off all of the calories you consume while letting Fido make some friends. Bring some cash so that you don't miss out on any of the awesome vendors that are a part of PorktoberQue!

Annual Dothan/Houston County Special Olympics
This is an amazing event that welcomes the whole family! Little Fido or Fifi are welcome to join you in the stands as long as they are on their leash (no retractable leashes permitted) and you clean up after them. The event begins with the athlete's parade followed by the torch lighting and opening ceremonies. This event spotlights the incredible ability of handi-capable athletes through running, biking, wheelchair races and other track and field events. Come and cheer on these courageous and talented athletes as they compete in this annual track and field event at Dothan High School track.

Hunt for the Golden Egg Event
The Dothan County Commission at Eastgate Park will be hosting this annual, family-friendly Easter egg hunt. Your doggos are welcome but they must be well-behaved (who's a good boy?) and stay on their leash (no retractable leashes permitted). Please be sure to be a courteous paw parent and clean up after your pooch inside the park. There will be music and activities, bounce houses, yummy foods and treats. Oh did we mention that there will be 5 golden eggs that contain $100.00! You don't want to miss out on your chance to find one of those!12
AKC All Breed Dog Match
In this corner, weighing in at 7.8 pounds its FIDO! In this corner weighing in at 78.2 pounds its FIFI! This all breed dog competition welcomes all pups, no matter their pedigree (or lack thereof)! Enter your good girl or boy over 6 months of age in the conformation, showmanship and obedience competitions in January at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan. If you are interested in more information, contact the organizers directly. Not entering any competitions? Bring your pup anyway and cheer on the pawtestants from the sidelines for no charge! Maybe they will be pawspiration for next years event! Go Fido! Go Fifi! Team Dog!
Dothan Area Botanical Gardens
Gardens A Glow goes on from the beginning to middle of December. If you are used to visiting the Botanical Garden in warmer weather to see the blooming flowers and green foliage, you don't want to miss the Botanical Gardens all decked out for the holidays! The Dothan Area Botanical Garden is located at 5130 Headland Avenue and costs $5.00 per person You can even bring your leashed furry friend along when your whole family visits the Garden. Come enjoy some hot cocoa, some yummy cookies and some Santa time! Oh, What Fun!
