The City of Mobile AnimalShelter is made possible by the county, but mostly through sponsors like PetSmart and Petsco. They serve to help the abandoned, homeless and neglected animals and take care of the animals’ welfare and health. They operate a No-Kill policy and aim to re-home all healthy animals. Animals who are deemed unlikely to respond to medical treatment are humanely euthanized. They have a wide volunteer network and offer help to pooches in need. You may also pick up your dog licenses here during office hours.
The Mobile County Animal Shelter operates an animal control facility and picks up close to 3,000 dogs per year that remain unclaimed. They put these beautiful dogs up for adoption, to give them a second chance at happiness. They serve to educate the public on their responsibilities in addition to prosecuting animal abuse and neglect cases.
The SPCA offers a respite for unwanted and abandoned dogs and animals. Being a non-profit, all proceeds go into the health and well-being of the animals, spay and neuter operations, education programs for the public and dog training. They offer a range of services and hold some paw-some events. They have a special clinic on hand with partnered vets to handle any emergency situations. They offer counselling, pet food assistance, financial assistance, emergency vet care and more! They have a wide support network of volunteers that work to look after the animals and re-home them. It is a great place to get the help you need for your pet.
