Hi! My name is Joey. I am born and raised here in the Bay Area and love animals, especially dogs! Since I was brought into this world, I have had at least 2 dogs around and this is the first time in my life that I don't. I don't have my own dogs to walk, so I would love the opportunity to walk yours! I'm a positive, easy-going, caring individual. I like to laugh just as much as I like to make people laugh. My life goal is to motivate, inspire, and care for other individuals, especially those at the high school level. I have my MA in Sport Psychology and I coach basketball at the high school level, so this is my way to help the younger generation face challenges with a positive mentality and to learn from each and every situation.

Dog Boarding in Phenix City

Operating as the only no-kill shelter in Russell County, the East Alabama Humane Society maintains a robust foster and rescue program. They are passionate about galvanizing volunteers locally and provide opportunities to young adults to work independently, socializing and training animals at the shelter. They closely partner with several grooming and veterinary facilities in the area to ensure all prospective adopters are aware of the network of resources available to them.

Facilitated by the government, Russell County Phenix City Animal Shelter sees the largest population of animals of all the shelters each year. They are unable to have a foster network due to liability, so they are very active online in order to keep a well-updated website.  RCPCASA is the first responder in circumstances of strays or lost pets, and unfortunately, sees a disproportionate number of surrenders. Despite all of this, RCPCASA stays positive and continues to serve their community as best they can.

This no-kill shelter serves all of Russell County and is always looking to expand their network. They have doggie sleepover or playdate programs for volunteers to give animals a break from the shelter life, and to better socialize them. Animal Ark is constantly raising funds for their medical programs such as the ringworm ward or heartworm treatment sponsorship program, and always makes sure they have a vet spotlight of the week for the care providers that go the extra mile for those in need.
