Hi! My name is Brianne. I have always had family dogs growing up and they were always treated as “our babies”. For the past four years I have been working in the doggy daycare field and volunteering at a local dog rescue. I am confident with all different sizes and personality types of dogs, and treat every one of them as if they were my own.

Operating as the only no-kill shelter in Russell County, the East Alabama Humane Society maintains a robust foster and rescue program. They are passionate about galvanizing volunteers locally and provide opportunities to young adults to work independently, socializing and training animals at the shelter. They closely partner with several grooming and veterinary facilities in the area to ensure all prospective adopters are aware of the network of resources available to them.
Facilitated by the government, Russell County Phenix City Animal Shelter sees the largest population of animals of all the shelters each year. They are unable to have a foster network due to liability, so they are very active online in order to keep a well-updated website. RCPCASA is the first responder in circumstances of strays or lost pets, and unfortunately, sees a disproportionate number of surrenders. Despite all of this, RCPCASA stays positive and continues to serve their community as best they can.
This no-kill shelter serves all of Russell County and is always looking to expand their network. They have doggie sleepover or playdate programs for volunteers to give animals a break from the shelter life, and to better socialize them. Animal Ark is constantly raising funds for their medical programs such as the ringworm ward or heartworm treatment sponsorship program, and always makes sure they have a vet spotlight of the week for the care providers that go the extra mile for those in need.
Giving Zoomies a whole new meaning, East Alabama Motor Speedway permits dogs to come into the pit area. Pit passes vary in price, depending on the event being held. The speedway hosts a variety of weekly race events where puppers are more than welcome. If horsepower gets you going, grab the leash and get your pit pass for an experience that is up close and personal.
One of the only breweries in little old Phenix City, Chattahoochee Brewing Company is situated just on the river, and they have a killer patio! Dogs are welcome on the patio while you kick back with one of the 40+ beers available for purchase. Closed on Sundays and open until 1:30 am on the weekends, Chattahoochee Brewing is the life of the paw-ty!
This 1.2-mile trail along the bank of the Chattahoochee River is the perfect route to take your pooch for a nice, long walk. The Riverwalk is the central hub for cyclists, runners, and dogs alike. It overlooks the Whitewater Center, and is maintained daily by the city. Soon Riverwalk will be the epicenter of Phenix City, with plans to develop many boutiques and cafes along the west bank.
Bring your top dog for a morning of interesting sniffs and sights! Running through the summer, the Russel County Farmers Market is a one-stop shop for fresh produce, meats, and handcrafted goods. It is conveniently located right next to Chattahoochee Brewing Company, so you can stop in for a brew after picking up some local goodness. Not to worry, there are vendors for Fido too!
A local favorite open year-round, Idle Hour Park is true to its name. It is the perfect place to sit by the pond and cast a line or take out a kayak for a peaceful break on the water. There is a huge playground for the kids, and large fields to toss the frisbee around with your beloved canine. Idle Hour Park's humble beginnings make it the well-loved local spot it is today.
