Give a Wag! Gives to Cammack Village Shelters

Surrounded by Arkansas’ capital city, Little Rock, the small community of Cammack Village is home to a tight-knit community of animal lovers. Throughout the village and the entire Little Rock metropolitan area, there are several hardworking animal rescue and welfare groups doing everything they can to improve the lives of animals in need.

Friends of the Animal Village is one such group. This volunteer-run, non-profit organization provides supplemental financial and promotional support to its local shelter, the Little Rock Animal Village. By organizing fundraising events, accepting donations, and promoting Little Rock Animal Village, the group’s aim is to raise awareness about the Village and increase the number of pet adoptions.

There’s a similar commitment to the well-being of animals at the Humane Society of Pulaski County (HSPC). Founded in 1946, HSPC maintains a 25,000 square foot shelter that includes a clinic, a full-time veterinarian, and 15 to 20 staff who care for up to 200 animals. The group’s mission is to rescue abandoned, abused, homeless, and unwanted animals, and give them the shelter and care they need before matching them with loving owners. This no-kill shelter is supported entirely by donations, fundraisers, bequests, and grants, and is well worth supporting if you’ve got a couple of bucks to spare.

Rock City Rescue is another Little Rock-based rescue group with a big heart. Though smaller than HSPC, it still works tirelessly to rescue dogs at risk of euthanasia. Founded in 2012, this non-profit has rescued more than 250 dogs, and as it receives no government funding it is always on the lookout for donations, volunteers and foster carers.
