Western Arizona Humane Society is a local animal shelter that holds regular fundraising events to help with the costs of running their establishment. Primarily a non-profit animal shelter, you can expect to be able to adopt a pet for a relatively small charge. They are not funded by the government and rely on donations from the public, local businesses and community groups. They look to partner with kind people who are looking to adopt a pet.
Mutt Matcher’s & Friends animal shelter is quite unique. They operate a point checking system and they rescue homeless dogs that are in need of homes. They then go for an extensive checkup and everything about them medical or behavior wise is taken into account. If the animal is in good shape, they offer them up for adoption. They first launched in 2005 and are run by a group of volunteers.
Then there is Help Animal Lives Today. This marvelous non-profit organization is a no-kill animal shelter, caring for a whole lot of animals! They have a lovely mission statement that talks of their compassion and care. The animals are looked after properly once they enter this shelter. The volunteers promote educational programs to assist future and present animal owners on the responsibilities of owning a pet. They also talk about pet overpopulation and how important it is to get your pets spayed and neutered. If you want to adopt one of their animals, you will need to fill out a questionnaire and pay the required fee.
