In their nearly 60 years of operation, the shelter has grown from a small volunteer-run facility to an expansive, professionally-managed humane society. Every animal that comes through their doors is met with compassionate care, complete vaccinations, a spay/neuter procedure, flea prevention, deworming, and microchipping. Additionally, adopted animals go home with a free San Diego County dog license, ID tag, and voucher for a free health exam at a participating veterinarian.
The shelter staff interact with the animals daily and really get to know their personalities. Thus, they are dedicated to helping each and every pet find the most suitable, loving forever home! Services offered by the organization include homeless animal shelter, pet adoptions, education programs, a pet food bank, and an animal safehouse program for survivors of domestic violence.
The shelter embraces the local community wholeheartedly, engaging children through their Kid's Community Service program, offering animal camps, teaching educational classes, and waiving adoption fees for San Diego County veterans!
All in all, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society is constantly moving the community forward in the realm of animal welfare and exceeding the needs of the area's pets and people.
