“Keeping your dogs and cats active, happy and safe!”

Hi dog parents! My name is Hope, and I’m a professional ballet dancer and animal lover. Growing up, I always was surrounded by animals, and I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Dogs need exercise, nature, and the sun, and I’m so excited to bring the outdoors to even the largest or highest-energy pup! I also have two adventure cats of my own, and love introducing indoor kitties to the magic of clicker training and harness walks.

Hi! I'm Shelly, nursing student, dog lover and owner! I have an 8 yr old 95lb mix I adopted from Hawaii and live with a 7 yr old mini dachshund. I take my dog running with me often and have been the primary person to teach obedience in our family dogs growing up - we have always had at least 1 dog in the house. I think dogs value leadership and I strive for that in my relationship with my own pups. I believe that all dogs love to be outside and exercise/walking keeps them happy and healthy.

Hi my name's Luke, I work as a martial arts instructor and am passionate about animals as well as living a happy, healthy & active lifestyle. I've been a big dog person my whole life and have had at least one dog in our family always since I was born. I've loved and cared for 2 German Shepherds, 2 Yellow Labs, a Jack Russell Terrier, 2 pugs, and a Shihtzu. I currently have a yellow lab and a pug, so I get to experience the best of both worlds in having and caring for both a big and a small dog. When my friend told me about the app I was really excited about the opportunity to meet and hang out with some new dog friends!

Dog Boarding in Coloma

While Coloma may be small in size, with a population of around 500 people, it’s big on dog-friendly activities and attractions. Throughout Coloma and the wider Coloma Valley you’ll find a host of parks, walks, historical sites, restaurants, and wineries that welcome dogs with open paws.

You’ll also find several dedicated rescue organizations working to improve the lives of the region’s canine population. Foothill Dog Rescue is one such group, and it has a mission to help at-risk pets in the area one dog at a time. Based in Shingle Springs, this non-profit, all-volunteer organization rescues and re-homes dogs from high-kill shelters and from owners who can no longer provide the care they need.Through partnerships with local veterinarians, trainers, groomers, and boarding facilities, Foothill Dog Rescue’s team of volunteers work to match each and every dog with a loving forever home.

In the nearby city of Auburn, Northern California Border Collie Rescue and Adoptions (NCBCRA) is an inspirational non-profit dedicated to the welfare of the area’s Border Collies. Staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers, NCBCRA fosters and adopts more than 150 dogs each year, giving each of those canine companions the opportunity to enjoy a happy and healthy future.

Cameron Park Pooch Plunge & Laps at the Lake

36

Once a year in August, dogs in the Coloma Valley and Cameron Park area are given the chance to enjoy an on-leash run or walk around beautiful Cameron Park Lake. That’s a fur-ocious distance of 1.1 miles, and every participant gets a ribbon for their efforts. Even better, once you’ve finished your Laps at the Lake, you can let your pet cool off in the Cameron Park Lake Lagoon as part of the Pooch Plunge. This annual dog-only swimming day is the perfect chance for your canine companion to splash, jump, run, and swim in the lagoon’s peaceful waters. There are food and vendors on site, while there’s a small fee charged for participating in each event. But if your pooch is always on the go or simply loves the water, it’s well worth the cost just to see the smile on his face.

Forget the candy — one of the best things about Halloween is the opportunity to dress your pooch in something cute, funny, or maybe even a little bit scary! The Halloween Spooktacular, held every year at the El Dorado Hills Town Center, 20 miles southwest of Coloma, gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that. Sure, just like many other Halloween events it features trick-or-treating, outdoor movie nights, and plenty of spine-tingling, blood-curdling fun. But the real highlight is the costume contest for kids and dogs, with prizes across a number of categories and plenty of frighteningly furry entrants offering hours of entertainment.
