Doggie-Gras Parade
Organized by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, this fun and exciting doggie parade takes place each February and is free to attend! The venue for the event is the Rancho Santa Fe Farmer’s Market and many owners will be heading over with their delightful pooches - kitted out with Mardi Gras costumes. So, if you want a fun morning for the whole family as well as the dog, this is an event you shouldn’t miss!

Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon
If your pooch loves spending time in the water, this event is a must for you! It is now in its twelfth year and has gone from strength to strength over the years with many dog owners and their dogs turning up to take part in the thrilling experience. The event is held in September at Del Mar Dog’s Beach and it helps to raise a lot of money to help animals in need. People not only book surfing sessions for their dogs, but also make donations and purchases to help toward raising crucial funds for rescue animals!

Puppy Love 5K
This wonderful and exciting event will be taking place on a Sunday in March. This is an annual event and is the ideal place to bring both children and pooches for an amazing day out! In addition to races around the bay, there are plenty of great activities to be enjoyed. This includes competitions and contests, awards, costumes, food and drink, entertainment and more. Adults, kids, and pooches will have a fabulous time at this event, which is organized by the Helen Woodward Animal Center. The money that is raised over the course of the day along with donations all goes toward helping to save the lives of animals in need!

Wells Park Dog Run
This El Cajon dog park is the perfect place for dogs and their owners to enjoy spending time outdoors and socializing with other dog owners and pets. The park spans 1.4 acres and you can let your dog off the leash to enjoy some fun and exercise! There are separate areas for small and large dogs, which helps to increase safety for your pooch. There is also plenty of seating for owners to relax and rest while their four-legged friends run wild on the grassed and gravel areas. Once he is tired out, your pooch can take a refreshing drink from the water fountain!
Silver Bay Kennel Club Annual Show
This show is a great opportunity for owners to enter their pooches into a range of categories (if they fulfil the requirements) or simply to head over and enjoy some fun by watching the show. The show is due to take place in February with details updated on the SBKC website closer to the date. This club has been in operation since the 1930s and has run many events over the decades. This event always enjoys a great turnout with many dog owners bringing them families and their pooches along to enjoy the fun!
