Our boys loved Des & we do too! Such a great pup sitter & we would definitely love to have her watch our babies again. She went out of her way to buy our boys extra toys & our lil anxious guy a sweater. She also sent daily updates & pictures for us. She s so thoughtful!! 10/10 recommend!

Home for the Holidays

Each December, the City of Irvine Animal Care Center hosts its annual Home for the Holidays pet adoption fair. This pet-friendly festival brings together 30 rescue groups and animal shelters and more than 600 homeless pets all in one place, which obviously makes it a grrr-eat event for anyone searching for a new furry friend. However, there’s lots of other fun and games to enjoy throughout the day, including dozens of pet-related vendors, gourmet food trucks, a silent auction, and more. Entry is via a suggested donation of $2 per person or $5 per family. Leashed, vaccinated, well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend, so grab your pooch and join in the fun.

Day of the Dog

A day of fun and festivities to celebrate our canine companions — sounds pretty paw-some, huh? Well, that’s exactly what you can expect at Animalia’s Day of the Dog, held in August at Animalia’s Huntington Beach location. Held to allow Animalia to return the love Animalia receives from its doggy friends, the event features contests, games, vendors, pooch pictures, and some grrr-eat prizes. The contests are the central feature of the day, with highlights including Most Unique Trick, Puppachino Eating Contest, Kissing Contest, and Treasure Hunt. If you’d like your dog to participate, donate dog or cat food to the OCSPCA’s No Empty Bowls pet food pantry.

Dapper Dog Social

A glamorous canine fashion show, a gorgeous doggy wedding, and plenty of dog-friendly fun — that’s what you can expect at the Dapper Dog Social, held in Santa Ana each August! This community event is a family-friendly, dress-up festival for you and your pupper, with all attendees invited to don their most spectacular and eye-catching costumes. Other highlights include a cute canine wedding, small dog races, food, beer and wine, pet product vendors, and a whole lot more! Proceeds from the event go to support local Orange County dog rescue groups, so get your pooch dressed in his or her snappiest outfit and get ready for some fun.

Anaheim Fall Festival & Howloween Pooch Parade

Each October, the Anaheim Fall Festival promises loads of dog-friendly entertainment for the entire family! There are carnival games and rides, kids’ costume contests, food, and a whole lot more. But the most memorable highlights of the festival each year feature dogs as the main attraction, starting with a doggy costume contest that always draws scores of cute and cuddly entrants. There are prizes for Best Pooch & Person Combo, Top Dog (small and large), Most Creative, and more, and the contest is followed by a Howloween Pooch Parade through Anaheim. It all kicks off at 3 pm at the Center Street Promenade, and your dog is sure to love every second of the festive fun!

Howwwl-O-Ween Party for Dogs

Why should us humans have all the Halloween fun? Why not let your dog join in all the festivities at this woof-tastic community event, held in the lead-up to Halloween at Anaheim’s La Palma Dog Park? Once you’ve paid the $10 fee to register your dog, you and your furry friend can enjoy a host of dog-friendly activities. Highlights include dog trick or treating, a canine photo booth, plenty of tasty treats, and even a dog costume contest! Your pooch will love getting dressed up in his spookiest outfit and strutting his stuff, and there’s enough fun and games to keep his tail wagging and put a smile on his face all day long.
