Gilroy Dog Park
It’s time to call your puppy pal for fun times at the local dog park, where you can play ball or go for a pleasurable walk. The Gilroy dog park is a fenced area with two separate enclosures for large and small dogs. It’s located in the Las Animas Park situated at 400 Mantelli Drive. The entire space is around 23 acres of established trees, walkways, and wide open spaces! There is also a children’s play area, a baseball diamond, a basketball/tennis court plus picnic areas with the usual restroom amenities. The space where doggies come to play is large and mainly dirt, so it pays to keep it clean. There are young trees growing to provide future shade and a water fountain is on site for thirsty pups. If you’re passing through the scenic city of Gilroy, stop awhile at the park! It's a great place to meet local dog lovers and give your pal a run.

Garlic City Diner
Many of the restaurants in the city of Gilroy, CA are happy to welcome people and their well-behaved dogs. Garlic City Café is a family owned business with a refreshing attitude to pooches, aware that some of their customers can’t bear to leave their canines at home. They offer an attractive, clean sidewalk area for Rover to hang out in while his pet parents partake in some of the delicious menu favorites. Just so you know you are the garlic capital, try their garlic cheeseburger, fries and the infamous garlic ice cream! It can get really social on the sidewalk when Gilroy residents let their dogs tag along. You’ll find this dog-friendly café at 7461 Monterey Road, Gilroy, CA.

Christmas Hill Park
Home to the legendary “Gilroy Garlic Festival” is a super spacious park complete with an amphitheater, a baseball/softball diamond and areas to exercise your dog in! Every year, the park comes alive with people from all over the country looking to celebrate the annual Garlic Festival, where every style of garlic-inspired dish - quirky or traditional - is up for tasting. Every other time of year, Christmas Hill Park is a magical space to bring the family and your awesome paw-babies. There are tons of trees for shades - plus cool trails for hiking! The entire park is 51 acres in size and can get pretty packed in the summertime with locals enjoying the great outdoors.

All Breed Show
The Gavilan Kennel Club makes its home in this fascinating city and meets bi-monthly at Mama Mia’s Italian Restaurant to plan upcoming events. They have recently announced their annual “All Breed Show” which is held in May. Formed in 1983, the mission of this club is to support the future of all purebred dogs. Their popular AKC sanctioned “All Breed Show” is always a winner with residents of Gilroy and outlying areas! They also hold training classes at the Edward R. Bacon Building, 255 Fitzgerald Avenue Gilroy. CA. All owners and breeders of purebreds are welcome and encouraged to join the club!
