This PAWSITIVELY dog-friendly cafe invites you to hang with your pup on the patio where Fido has his very OWN menu. He can choose a grilled hamburger patty and brown rice, grilled chicken and brown rice or one of a whole host of other options. While he makes up his mind, he can sip on his complimentary bowl of water. When its your turn to order, choose from some amazing food - burgers, sandwiches, pizza, shrimp tacos, desserts..not to mention the tasty cocktails served at the bar. Open since 2004, Alcove is an American eatery with a dog-friendly patio. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Autograph hounds flock here at the chance of catching a glimpse of the rich and famous with their dogs; Natalie Portman was spied there recently with her Yorkie, Whiz! The cafe is located inside two of the oldest houses in the area, dating back to 1897. Alcove is full of character and offers an incredible edible fare! Howl-o-Ween Doggie Dash 5K
This annual event in nearby LA's Griffith Park is sponsored by LA Frontrunners to raise funds for PAWS/LA. There are two separate races - one for humans and one for pets AND their people. There is also a doggie costume contest with plenty of prizes. Your puppy-runner must be on a leash of no more than 6 feet in length (no retractable leashes, as the race is too crowded). The organizers ask that you and Fido be well-behaved and that Fido is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on his shots and that you do your pet parent duty and clean up your doggy's doody. On your mark, get set, FETCH for a grrrrrrreat cause!
