Tabitha and her family took such great care of our senior dog over the holidays. They fed, walked, played with and groomed him. They sent photos and videos, and noted all of his feedings and walks. There is a quaint little cafe called Peach Cafe in Monrovia with an awesome, dog-friendly back patio and delicious food. It's a great spot for brunching and socializing with both humans and dogs! Peach Cafe offers a number of great treats and an easy-going atmosphere in which to enjoy a nice outing with your canine. The eggs benedict on cornbread and the blueberry pancakes come highly recommended from patrons of this lovely establishment. There is truly nothing better than going out on a date with your pooch while enjoying mouth-watering food and good company!36
Monrovia Canyon Park
The Monrovia Canyon Park is a wag-tacular destination for the outdoorsy pup family! This city park boasts over 80 acres of trails and fields for all explorers to enjoy. The walking paths have plenty of shade provided by the many trees along the way. Both you and your dog are sure to love this spacious park, ideal for a day of play! Show your dog some love and get healthy at the same time! Bring your friends, your family, or fly solo as you embark on what is sure to be a day of peaceful adventure surrounded by nature.24
Annual Basset Hound Rescue of SoCal Spring Games
Head on over to Arcadia park for the Annual Basset Hound Rescue of SoCal Spring Games! The Basset Hound Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of hounds and helping to find them forever homes. This non-profit has been serving California for 20 years, and each year they put on a large event in order to raise money for their cause. The event is free for people. If you bring your hound, the cost is $20 per pooch, and allows you to enter in the many contests. It makes for a super fun outing that the entire family can enjoy (Fido included). The event features a tail painting booth, synchronized swimming, and an agility contest -all for canines!12
West Covina Dog Spooktacular
The West Covina Dog Spooktacular is just a short distance from Monrovia, in West Covina at the Central Bark Dog Park (located in the Del Norte Park). The event invites pet owners to dress up their dogs and come participate in the dog costume contest. There are three categories in which you can win prizes: scariest, cutest, and most original costume! There will be pet giveaway prizes and local pet vendors offering a number of items for you to try out or purchase. The event is sponsored by the city of West Covina, and has no admission fee. Even if your pup isn't the dressing-up type, bring him on down to enjoy the fun and entertainment!
My Pet Garden Pet Adoption Carnival
In nearby Pasadena, there is a pet adoption event that also serves as a carnival for the whole community to enjoy! There are many local animal shelters and vendors represented at the carnival. Adoption is not the only thing going on at this wag-tastic event. There are activities for both families and their pets to enjoy! Notable features of the carnival include pet paw painting, a bouncy house for children, and (non-alcoholic) beer and wine tasting for the dogs! The event takes place in the Roosevelt Shopping Plaza and is free to enter (though once you get in, some things do cost money). There will be a raffle, for which all of the proceeds benefit the local animal shelters who attend the event. Bring your pooch to this pup-tacular carnival for a day that is sure to be a howl!
