Give a Wag! Gives to Newport Beach Shelters

Near Newport Beach, California, there are a number of animal shelters that help care and find homes for homeless pets. Hundreds of pets are placed in permanent homes each year due to the work of these animal shelters and their staff members. As there are many towns in close proximity to Newport Beach, you can visit numerous animal shelters without much of a drive. Two of these nearby shelters are the Irvine Animal Care Center and the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter.

The Irvine Animal Care Center is part of the City of Irvine. The center cares for pets, helps them find new homes, and educates the community about responsible pet ownership. Irvine Animal Care Center even has the ability to deny requests from pet owners to euthanize healthy, treatable, or adoptable pets. Instead, the center will take animals in and work to find homes for them.

The Laguna Beach Animal Shelter is a short drive from Newport Beach, California. The Laguna Beach Animal Shelter was opened in 1975 by a group of volunteers called the Pet Responsibility Committee (now called PUP Laguna Beach). The shelter is now funded by the City of Laguna Beach and donations from the local community. Donations help pay for medical care, food, and other costs associated with running an animal shelter.

For those in the Newport Beach, California, area who are looking for a furry family member, visit one of these or another animal shelter in the area to help an animal find a new home today.
