Yappy Hour
Run by the Valley Humane Society, the annual Yappy Hour series provides a great day out for people and their pooches while helping raise money for rescue animals. The 2017 event took place in June and was held at the McKays Taphouse and Beer Garden as well as several other local venues. Details for the event will be added to the site in due course. Those attending are welcome to bring along their dogs on leashes and can then enjoy a range of activities including raffles and competitions. The aim is, of course, to raise as much money as possible to care for the rescue dogs and cats that are waiting for homes.

Annual Harvest Moon Classic Dog Show
This annual event is held over four days in October and is a great place for families and their dogs to enjoy some fun and entertainment! There are many categories included in the show and some great prizes are up for grabs. Held at Alameda County Fairgrounds, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. A range of trials are included in this all breed show and there is always a good turnout. In addition, the money raised over the course of the four-day event goes towards helping homeless and rescue animals in no-kill shelters around the local area!

Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore Show
This AKC event takes place for three days in October. It is an annual event with a very good turnout and a range of competitions that take place over the course of the show. The venue is the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. The whole family can enjoy getting involved with this event and your dog can either come along to watch or you may even want him to enter based on eligibility. More details about the event will be on the website closer to the date so make sure you make the date in your diary, as it is sure to be great fun for both dogs and their owners!

Pleasanton Pooch Parade
This fabulous, fun annual event has been taking place in Pleasanton for two decades and it still provides a world of fun and entertainment for dogs and their families! The event takes place in August over the course of several hours and is held in the downtown area. There are various categories that can be entered by both the dogs and the owners. Hundreds of pooches attend with their families and the money raised goes toward raising and training guide dogs! Admission to the event is free making it a great family afternoon out.
Cubby’s Dog Park
If you want to take your four-legged friend to enjoy some fun and frolics off-leash, this dog park in Pleasanton is a great place to go! There are plenty of resources and areas for dogs to enjoy and there is a separate section for puppies and small dogs. There is also plenty of seating for pet owners to take a rest while their pooch has some fun. This is a great place to help your dog with socialization and where you can also get to meet other dog owners!
