Give a Wag! Gives to Redwood City Shelters

Pets in Need is Redwood City's most well-known dog and animal shelter and they have been selflessly saving homeless pets for over 50 years! Their principles are focused on respect, compassion, integrity, leadership, and the true value and importance of community involvement. They strive to reduce the number of animals facing euthanization in public kill shelters by removing animals from such environments and providing them with a safe haven until they are able to find their forever homes.

Pets in Need focuses heavily on community involvement and animal education, especially for children. They host numerous fundraising and community events throughout the year to help support their non-profit. They put on many adoptions events throughout Redwood City and host educational classes to children and local residents on topics like clicker training, playgroup and socialization training, and how to teach young children compassion and proper treatment of animals!

Slightly outside of Redwood City, Peninsula Humane Society is another popular destination for locals to recuse both dogs and cats. They are a 100% acceptance shelter that takes in dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and even unhealthy and sick animals through their Hope Program. This dedicated shelter rehomes over 200 animals per month - can you say oh my dog!? They are deeply invested in their community and offer a variety of programs and events to engage with locals. Their Pet Therapy Program takes volunteers and their pets to local healthcare facilities to help bring joy to those who are struggling with their health. They also have numerous annual fundraising events like the dog-friendly Barn n' Brewfest!
