Give a Wag! Gives to San Marcos Shelters

Situated between San Diego and Temecula, California, San Marcos is a smaller city with a lot of the same problems that larger cities face, including a large population of homeless animals! In the San Marcos area, there are a couple animal shelters that work hard to provide care and food for these potential pets. Two of these shelters are the San Diego Humane Society and Forgotten Paws Animal Rescue.

The San Diego Humane Society is less than a 40-minute drive from San Marcos, and the shelter is home to hundreds of animals looking for new homes. The organization works hard to educate the public on proper animal care in the hopes of preventing cruelty and neglect cases in the area. The shelter also provides medical care for homeless animals during their stay. All the animals that are brought into the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before leaving the premises. The San Diego Humane Society also provides animal control and stray services to the San Marcos area.

Forgotten Paws Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that helps homeless pets find loving, lasting homes. The rescue takes in animals on the euthanasia list from high-kill shelters in the area to save them. With the help of fosters, the organization is able to help many animals find new homes each year with only donations, fundraising, and money from adoption fees.

If you live in the area and are looking for a new pet, contact one of these shelters to find a lovable cat or dog to bring home.
