The Ventura County Animal Services is one organization doing admirable work in Simi Valley and the surrounding areas. Their mission is to reunite lost pets with their owners, and to find fur-ever homes for homeless, surrendered, and neglected dogs and cats. The Ventura County Animal Services has a larger location, home to around 400 pets, in Camarillo. 

A Change of Heart Animal Rescue is also doing big things for animals of all sizes. Dedicated to caring for and rehoming lost pets, this organization goes above and beyond for the animals of Simi Valley who need nurturing love and attention. The cats and dogs at this rescue shelter are kept happy and healthy until they find their forever homes. You and your pooch can get in the Halloween spirit by dressing up and competing in any of the number of contests offered, with categories like "funniest costume". Build a float or decorate a wagon for the parade, and win "Best Float", or participate in the silent auction.
