Give a Wag! Gives to Sunnyvale Shelters

Judging by the name of it, Sunnyvale, California sounds like an ultimate paradise, and for you and your pooch, it could be! Though not currently one of California's dog-friendliest cities, Sunnyvale provides you and your pup not only with puppy-positive restaurants, bars, and shopping centers, but also a close proximity to some of the most pooch-tastic cities in the state (San Jose is only a ten-minute drive)!

Smack dab in Silicon Valley, this city is gradually growing it's doggo population, and so far, it has a few shelters, organizations, and rescues there to support the growth. The largest organization, the Humane Society of Silicon Valley, is an independent 501(c)3, non-profit organization that has set up shop in 4 locations. Active in the valley for 85 years, their location near Sunnyvale is a 48,000 square foot animal community center that recently opened its doors in 2009. At the Humane Society of Silicon Valley, the aim and focus is to shelter animals, provide educational programs, administrate veterinary care when possible, and help pups find their fur-ever homes.

Another interesting dog organization in Sunnyvale is Copper's Dream Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies on foster homes. Because the organization doesn't have a physical shelter, they can't take in an unlimited amount of pups, but they were founded on the basis to help as many doggos in the Bay area as possible, no matter the breed!
