Give a Wag! Gives to Visalia Shelters

Known as the gateway to the Sequoias, the city of Valasia, CA is a sunny place to visit for those who love outdoor activities like camping, hiking and exploring the nearby National Park.  It’s also home to the Valley Oak SPCA, located at 9800 Camp Drive.

Founded in 1991 the shelter is dedicated to helping dogs that may not have had a good start in life but deserve a second chance. They are a non-profit, no-kill shelter that saves the lives of many dogs. The VOSPCA moved into new premises in June of 2017 and are in good spirits about the future. They consider their work an honor and are committed to connecting pets and people in the city where they live.

Fundraising projects are always at the fore with the Annual ”Walk A Dog A Thon” held at Mooney Grove Park each April. Well behaved dogs and their owners are always encouraged to join this fun, fundraising event with individual and corporate sponsors playing their part. The shelter relies on the kind hearts of their community to keep doing the work they love. Seeing an injured or abandoned dog re-homed is reward enough for the many volunteers who generously offer their help.

The Valley Oak SPCA features an affordable spay/neuter clinic with vaccination and microchip services. The walk-in clinic is situated at 9405 W. Goshen Ave. Opening hours are 7 am -4 pm Monday to Friday with Thursday times 7 am to 6 pm. If you are looking to share your life with man’s best friend, pop into the shelter or check out their website for dogs ready to be rehomed.
