The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is probably the most infamous and well-recognized animal, private, non-profit organization operating in this large gregarious city. It offers a whole host of services ranging from an active animal shelter, a veterinary clinic, an animal control facility, a thrift shop, an adoption center and finally a training center. Adopting a dog is taken very seriously with a special matchmaking service to introduce the dogs to their potential owners. VIP dogs are more expensive due to their popularity and they are usually the first to go when they become available.
Volunteers form a large part of their involvement with the community and how it delivers its services. Their volunteers ensure that their pawsome dog events are successful and fun for all involved. The society also offers a range of dog training classes from Agility, Manners and Behavior drills to K9 Work classes. All of them makes for a paw-tastic time! The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is over a hundred years old and was founded in 1902. It helps on average 7,000 pets a year and successfully homes over 95% of them.
