Doggie Dash
Taking place every September at Boulder Reservoir in Boulder, CO, the Doggie Dash is the perfect event for outdoor lovers and their pawtastic partners in crime! The annual event benefits the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and offers family-friendly activities - including a community expo and beer garden - after the dash. In addition, all 'dashers' will receive a medal and collapsible pouch for their furry companion!36
Mountain Pugging: Marshall Mesa Trail
This dog-friendly event takes place at the Marshall Mesa Trailhead just outside of Boulder about 20 minutes from Nederland in the month of April. Sponsored by Pugs of Colorado, this is a free event that will get your pug out and about, exploring the beautiful Colorado mountains. You can go as far as you want on the trail, allowing you to personalize your hike to the needs of you and your four-legged outdoorsmen.24
Doggie Plunge
A favorite event for dog lovers and pooches alike, the Doggie Plunge takes place every September in Denver, CO, just 45 minutes from Nederland. This family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity for your pup to take a plunge and cool off from the warm summer months. In addition to tons of fun for your four-legged swimmer, the event also features mouth-watering eats from local food trucks and a beer tent. Choose from one of three swim sessions and treat your pup to the swim of a lifetime!12
Rocky Mountain Pet Expo
Colorado is a very dog-friendly state, which is easy to see from all the amazing pet events that take place throughout the year. A favorite of many is the Rocky Mountain Pet Expo, which takes place at the National Western Complex in Denver about an hour from Nederland. The event celebrates everything that we love about our furry best friends and dogs of all breeds are welcome! From a Doggie Fashion Show to the Cutest Pet Contest, this annual May event is not to be missed!
Dog Dayz
An annual event that is one of the best soirees for pooches of the year, Dog Dayz gets more than 2,000 dogs together to take a dip in the pool! Each year a Boulder pool closes its doors to human swimmers and opens the gate for your four-legged best friend to play, swim, and soak up the Colorado sunshine. Humans must stay out of the water during doggie swim time and there is a $5 fee per dog. Other than that, just have some fun!
