Give a Wag! Gives to Nederland Shelters

Nederland, Colorado is a small town located in the mountains just outside of Boulder. Established in 1874 as a trading post, today Nederland is known as a small liberal community of outdoor enthusiasts. Situated 17 miles southwest of Boulder, there are numerous prominent animal shelters located a short distance from Nederland in Boulder and surrounding cities:

Located just 20 minutes from Nederland in Boulder, CO, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley offers adoption services, training, veterinary care, and numerous volunteer opportunities. Established in 2011, the Humane Society also hosts numerous pup-centric events, such as the Bow Wow Film Festival and pet photo shoots to benefit the organization.

Established in 2005 in Boulder, Farfel's Friends rescues dogs from high-kill shelters in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, bringing them to Colorado for a second chance at life. Once the dogs are safely transported to Boulder, they are evaluated for any medical issues and then put in a foster home until they find their forever home. This unique organization has helped countless pets get back on their feet and find the home they deserve.

Summit Dog Rescue saves high-risk dogs from kill shelters, working hard to find them the loving homes they deserve. A non-profit rescue committed to taking a mindful approach to rescuing abandoned, abused, or homeless dogs, Summit Dog Rescue also offers a range of other important services. From volunteer opportunities to training and pet wellness classes, Summit has done wonders for dogs in the Boulder area.
