“Four legged friends are the best!”

*Woof!* I'm Joshua and I just said 'Hello!' in dog speak. I've been told I'm a good human and often get wet nose kisses in recognition of a job well done. Dogs are simply amazing and I absolutely love them. I appreciate dogs of all sizes and breeds, but big playful pups are my favorite. When caring for your dog, you can rest assured that your fur baby is in the good hands of a trustworthy human who is as loving to your four-legged friend as you are. Your pup is always priority #1!

“I look forward to meeting you and your pups! :)”

Hi there, dog owners! My name is Kylee (please excuse the different profile title, it has to use my legal name). I'm 26 and a college student whose two favorite things are animals and the outdoors. So when I'm walking your dog I'm not just working, I'm having a great time! I was raised with three dogs so I have lots of experience, but I haven't been able to have one of my own since starting school. Feel free to contact me with any questions, I look forward to meeting you and your pups!

“Your dog will have a paws-itively good time w/ me!”

Hi! My name is Kaylee — AKA your dog’s new friend! I want to help busy pet parents, like myself, feel at ease at work, vacation, or a night out, and to know that their pup is being cared for. When your dog is with me, he/she will be treated like my own — meaning lots of pets, loving, and attention. I have experience with dogs that needs all type of care. I’ll pay extra attention to their needs. I have a dog and a cat, and they’re my world. Thanks for letting me bring that love to your pup!

“I will treat your dog as one of my family!”

I grew up with dogs on our horse farm & pet sat through college. I was a vet tech, dog groomer & kennel manager for 8 years at a vet before starting my own business so I can do various medical treatments, meds, etc. I have 2 large dogs- Griffey a humane society pup and Monty a golden retriever. If you are going away for a weekend or vacation, my daughter, son and I all do house/pet sitting in your home. Keep your dog in the comfort of it's own home/schedule & not the stresses of a kennel.

Dog Boarding in Avon

Avon, Connecticut, sits about 10 miles northwest of Hartford. While it is a much smaller town than Hartford, Avon still has its fair share of problems, one of which is animal homelessness. Luckily, the animals in this area can find care at local shelters.

Our Companions Animal Shelter opened in 2002 in Ashford. The organization quickly garnered attention for being the first animal sanctuary in the state. The animals that end up at Our Companions Animal Shelter live in an environment that is more like that of a home than an animal shelter. Animals at the sanctuary are given a lot more freedoms than they would have received in a regular shelter. Animals of all ages and breeds are accepted at Our Companions Animal Shelter.

The Connecticut Humane Society was founded in 1881, making it the oldest animal welfare organization in the state. The organization’s goal is to find loving homes for each companion animal in the state. While an animal is in the humane society’s care, staff helps provide medical care and affection until the animal can be placed in a new home. Each year, the Connecticut Humane Society helps more than 6,000 animals find new homes. As a non-profit organization, the Connecticut Humane Society relies on donations and volunteers, as well as fundraising efforts. The organization currently has four locations across Connecticut.

If you live in the Avon area and are interested in adding a pet to your household, consider a visit to one of these local shelters to find a furry new friend.
