Looking for a day of Fido-friendly fitness and fun to benefit a very good cause? Cape Coral Mutt Strut might be just the ticket! This highly-anticipated annual fundraiser features your choice of a 5K run or a 1-mile walk, depending on your desired pace, and you can bring your pooch along to complete the course with you. Not only does this give you a chance to socialize with other dog lovers and their pets, but the Cape Coral Mutt Strut also raises funds to support the Cape Coral Animal Shelter. There’s also a huge post-race party at Wicked Dolphin Distillery, so grab a leash and get ready to strut your mutt!

Just For Fun Dog Show
Dog shows can often be stuffy, overly formal affairs — but not this one! The Just For Fun Dog Show is a paw-some canine event that doesn’t take itself too seriously, allowing dog owners and their much-loved pets to simply kick back, relax, and enjoy a whole lot of pet-friendly fun. There are heaps of contests for pooches of all shapes and sizes, including the best costume, longest ears, cutest dog, best kisser, waggiest tail, and even the saddest eyes. You can enter your dog for a fee of $6 per category, or spectators can simply sit back and watch the fun for free! There are also plenty of pet-friendly vendors promoting products and services for your furry friend, so head on down to Rotary Park to see which dog is crowned best in show.

The Fast & the Furriest
Ready to run with the dogs? The Fast & the Furriest is a hugely popular annual fundraiser for Gulf Coast Humane Society, and it sees hundreds of dog lovers and their four-legged friends get active for a great cause. Participants can choose from a 5K run or 1-mile walk at Hammond Stadium, and tackle their chosen course as fast or slow as they want. It’s a wonderful social event for anyone who loves dogs and all animals, while there are also awards for the fastest dogs in three weight categories. Best of all, the event helps Gulf Coast Humane Society find forever adoptive homes for southwest Florida’s homeless pets!

Cape Harbour Yappy Hour
A dog-friendly happy hour with a paw-some Halloween theme — if you think this sounds like a grrr-eat night out, this is the event for you! Cape Harbour Yappy Hour is held at Fathoms and supports the Cape Coral Animal Shelter. From 5:30 pm until 7, dog lovers are invited to enjoy beer, wine, and an all-around good time for a fantastic cause. There are prizes, grrr-eat giveaways, and pet product vendors, but the real highlight is a Halloween-themed doggy costume party! It’s cute, funny, and maybe a little bit spooky, so grab your furry friend and join in all the fun.
Brews for Barks
On the second Tuesday of every month, dog lovers in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and surrounding areas get together to enjoy Brews for Barks. Held at Millennial Brewing Co. in Fort Myers, this dog-friendly event allows you to enjoy a refreshing beer, socialize with other animals, and do it all with your dog by your side! Dogs are always welcome at Brews for Barks and as this is a family-friendly event, two-legged guests young and old are also invited. A portion of the beer sales from 6 pm to 8 pm benefits Gulf Coast Humane Society’s work to help homeless animals, plus there are also food vendors available on the night.
