Give a Wag! Gives to Coral Gables Shelters

Miami-Dade County Animal Services serves the Greater Coral Gables, Florida area. This organization is in charge of the area's animal population - making sure they are healthy, safe and loved in forever homes. You can check out their adoptable pets online or head to the Adoption and Protection Center to see these loving furry souls in person.  The Pet Adoption and Protection Center is located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue in Doral, Florida.  You can also check out their adoptable pets every weekend at area Petsmart stores. Every pet that is adopted from Miami-Dade County Animal will be dewormed, receive vaccinations and a microchip and will be spayed or neutered before going to their forever homes.

The Miami-Dade County Animal Services Center offers a community spay/neuter clinic for low-income families with pets and can even assist you in keeping your pet should your financial circumstances change. If you suspect an animal near you is being neglected or abused in anyway contact the office immediately and the animal can be removed from that home while the alleged abuse report is seriously examined.

If you have a young child or are affiliated with a youth organization, consider bring the group in for a volunteer day. There are so many jobs they can use your help with; cleaning, clerical work, transporting animals, walking the animals or just sitting and cuddling sick or ageing pets that don't get many visitors. Once you see those tails start to wag, you will want to come and visit the animals more and more - and who knows, perhaps you'll even take home a new furry best friend.

Community outreach is a vital part of this organization, with a focus on educating young people to have compassion for all living things. Let the staff at the Miami-Dade County Animal Services teach your young people or youth organization the importance of spaying and neutering animals, basic obedience and grooming of animals and the lifetime commitment of becoming an adoptive fur parent. If we start educating our young people, maybe one day there will be no more abused or neglected animals and every pet will have a loving, safe forever home.

Thank you, Miami-Dade County Animal Services for all you do every day to help the animal population and those that love them in the Greater Coral Gables Florida area.
