Give a Wag! Gives to Delray Beach Shelters

Dotting the Atlantic coast on the east side of Florida, Delray Beach is a small city filled with outdoor activities, museums, art, culture, and plenty of - you guessed it - doggo activities!

While the city itself leaves plenty of room for pup adventures, a lot of the dog friendly attitude that's been cultivating has much to do with the shelters in the area.

One of the biggest shelters that serves Delray Beach is the Florida Humane Society. Though it's located in Pompano Beach, it services all the palm beach counties in South Florida. A 501(c)3, this non-profit organization is a no-kill, no time-limit organization that spays, neuters, and adopts out about 3,500 animals per year! Another shelter in the area is the Animal Rescue Force of South Florida, Inc. This non-profit organization is devoted to saving homeless animals from both the streets and from high-kill shelters. They ensure that animals are kept in loving foster homes until they're able to be adopted out to responsible families.

    #3 Walk for the Animals

This is one of the biggest pooch events put on in the West Palm Beach area, which is close to Delray Beach. Hosted by a well-known, well-established shelter in WPB, the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, this event aims to raise funds for the organization and for homeless pooches in the area. You and your pup can participate and fundraise, walk the walk around Lake Victoria, enjoy live music and entertainment, partake in the charity pet wash (if your pooch needs a bath), take photos with Santa for the upcoming holiday, or even join the raffle and win a bunch of pup prizes!
