“Pet Care in Sewall's Point and surrounding areas!”
In my six years as a pet parent, I've lived with and cared for six cats & three dogs, though I currently do not have any pets. I've helped friends, family, & roommates with walks & drop-in visits for dogs & cats. I'm comfortable feeding, walking, cleaning up indoor pet messes, litter boxes & light grooming like brushing or bathing, if your pet is used to being bathed. I hope I can help you fulfill any needs you or your pet may have. Here's to meeting many new amazing and fun furry friends!

The beach-lined city of Fort Pierce has long been considered one of the most beautiful spots on the Atlantic Ocean. Though not considered one of the dog-friendliest locations in the state of Florida, Fort Pierce is gradually and consistently adjusting to become a more welcoming, friendly location for pets!
While commercial retailers like shopping centers, bars, hotels, and restaurants are in the process of catching up, one local rescue organization has made quite the splash in this area.
This organization, founded in 1988, is known as the Dogs and Cats Forever Sanctuary, Inc. It is a not-for-profit organization that set out with the mission to rescue as many of the 75,000 animals at risk for euthanasia in kill shelters in South Florida as possible. Hosting dogs and cats from the surrounding areas, this shelter does its best to never turn away an animal in need. No animal in their care will ever be sold for research, entertainment, or exploitation. They seek to end animal abuse and neglect, help care for animals in the area, provide foster homes and even host tons of fundraising events to keep their animals well cared for.
Another huge organization that serves Fort Pierce is the Humane Society of St. Lucie. This 501(c)3 organization is a nationally accredited shelter for pups in the area. They've had their doors open for business since 1956, and in that time, have grown to rescue, care for, and rehome about 5,000 animals in the community every year. The overall goal of this St. Lucie shelter is to provide immediate care for animals that make their way under their roof and also to help create a better future for all animals throughout the county. In fact, they never turn an animal away!
It's the biggest, most pawesome event of the year, and you and your pup are invited! Join host Paws-N-Claws, and over 5,000 other pets and their pawrents, for the enormous Sandi Paws Pet & People Festival and Parade! Located right in Marina Square, this festival is packed with surrounding views of the beautiful coastline and will feature pet vendors, pet attractions, demonstrations, agility courses, a pet costume contest and fashion show, and of course, a pawrade! In addition, this event seeks to honor veterans, law enforcement, and those serving their country with a special dedication ceremony. Bring your polite pooch on a leash, and make sure to clean up after him! You and your canine can meet other Fort Pierce pups, enjoy the food and entertainment, and bond over all the pawesome pup costumes you'll see!
Christmas, Christmas time is here, time for joy and time for - pet photos? That's right! 'Tis the season to take snapshots with Santa, and you and your pup can finally do that together! Join the Dog and Cats Forever Inc. family with your pup every December to get annual shots of your pooch with Santa Paws! Might as well make it a new tradition, right? Pictures cost $5, and pup costumes are entirely encouraged. All proceeds from this festive, seasonal event will go toward the animals supported by Dog and Cats Forever Sanctuary Inc.
Are you and your pooch interested in the finest paw-ty in Fort Pierce? Look no further than the annual Corks and Collars event full of fine-dining, sniffing, and lots of doggo fun! You and your canine companion can dress-pup in your finest attire, shell out a few bucks (for the less-fortunate pooches in your community, of course), and dine on the finest Italian food in the city. This annual event is hosted by Dog and Cats Forever Sanctuary Inc. and occurs over the course of two days in July! All proceeds from this event will benefit the animals of the Dog and Cats Forever Sanctuary Inc.
Do you like the idea of a brisk walk with your pooch for a good cause? We thought you might! You and your pup can attend the annual walk hosted by the Dogs and Cats Forever Sanctuary Inc. that honors the memory of Andrew Schmeer who was tragically killed on September 8, 2014 in a car accident. According to this organization, "Andrew had a compassion and genuine love for animals and spent most of his free time loving them endlessly and taking care of his four-legged friends." All of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Dogs and Cats Forever!
Have a dog who prefers running around in the salty water than dressing up for fancy pawties? No problem! Fort Pierce has the perfect solution! The Walton Rocks Dog Beach is one of the only spots in the surrounding area that allows you and your pooch to run free and off-leash together! Frolic through the waves, run around in the sand, or play a game of frisbee together! You can do it all at Walton Rocks Beach. It's free to enjoy this beach, but authorities remind you to clean up after your pooches so others can also enjoy the sand without getting a squishy surprise.
