Jose and his family treat Chloe SO well, whenever she sees them pull up in the driveway, she runs up to their car, and jumps in the front seat with his wife or son.

Walk for the Animals

Feel like taking your dog for a relaxing stroll and helping animals in need at the same time? You should sign up for the Humane Society of Broward County’s annual Walk for the Animals, held each March through Downtown Fort Lauderdale and along the scenic New River. The centrepiece of the event is the 1.25-mile walk, with thousands of dog owners and their four-legged friends tackling the easy course. However, there are heaps more to see and do throughout the morning, including live music, a pancake breakfast, doggy demonstrations, games, giveaways, and vendor booths. There’s no registration fee for the walk, but as this is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraising event of the year, all participants are encouraged to register and raise as much money as possible!

Paws With Claus Holiday Paw-ty

Christmas is the time of year when we all like to spend some quality time with everyone we love. If you’re a dog owner, that of course means taking the time to spoil the family pooch as much as possible! And there’s no better way to treat your canine companion than to take him along to the Paws With Claus Holiday Paw-ty, hosted by Tamarac Parks and Recreation each December. The highlight is a contest to determine the best-dressed holiday hound, so you’ll want to make sure your furry friend is looking as fetching as possible, but there’s a whole lot more to enjoy throughout the event! You can have your dog’s photo taken with Santa, sample some doggie treats, and win some grrr-eat raffle prizes, so get into the holiday spirit and enjoy yourself with plenty of other like-minded animal lovers.

Puppy Palooza

When November comes around each year, the dogs of Miramar know it’s time to raise the woof at Puppy Palooza! This fun-filled family event is quickly becoming a highlight on the Miramar social calendar and promises heaps of dog-friendly entertainment for animal lovers young and old. Hosted by the City of Miramar in the Miramar Town Center Plaza, Puppy Palooza is where pampered pooches can go to enjoy the red-carpet treatment. There’s a doggie casting call, canine fashion show, fitness trail, dog adoptions, and heaps of op-paw-tunities to spoil your furry friend. The paw-purr-azi will also be in attendance, so make sure your dog is ready to strike a pose or two!

Doggy Fun Fest & Struttin' For Strays

Two dog-friendly events in the space of one action-packed day — sounds paw-some, right? Yet that’s exactly what you can expect at Jaco Pastorius Park in Oakland Park next February, when the annual Doggy Fun Fest and Struttin’ For Strays Walk join forces to create one mutts-do doggy event! The strut kicks off all the fun with a 1.25-mile stroll down NE 12th Avenue for dogs and their owners, with the aim to raise funds for rescue organizations that support the homeless pets of South Florida. Then, it’s time for a day full of entertainment at the Doggy Fun Fest, which features live music, canine contests, an agility course, pet adoptions, races, and so many other dog-friendly activities that you won’t know where to start. Check it out!
