“Be assured,I'll treat your beloved pup as my own!!”
My name is Astrid, I grew up at my grandmother's farm. I was always around all types of animals; chickens, pigs, cows, horses, sheep and of course our loyal dogs. I learned from a very early age to respect all living creatures. I love them all small and large. I love meeting more dogs in my area and make sure that while their parents are away, they won't be alone. It's also a great way for them to socialize and get their daily exercise.

My name is Jessica, I am a 22 year old college student working on finishing my AA after taking time off to work full-time jobs. I have been a dog owner for over 6 years at least now and have always grown up around dogs my whole life. I've walked and dog-sat many breeds and sizes so I am very familiar with all dogs. I absolutely love taking dogs on nice walks and giving them a nice play time so that they can get all of their energy out during the days so they can rest at night. I've helped raise a German Shepard (2x) and have taken care of and restored the health of my abused pitt-mix, Rocco (a rescue out of Broward County). Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your dog(s)!

With such a long time in operation, this is all been made possible by help from the community for all these years. They encourage as many people as possible to volunteer in their shelter, become a foster home, donate, or partake in one of their many events and fundraisers throughout the year. Some of the signature annual events include Christmas Ball, Blessing of the Animals, Pet Photos with Santa, Off the Leash, and our Barry Crown Walk for the Animals, and much more!
A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue is another popular rescue shelter serving the Palm Beach area. They are a 100% volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization. They have been in operation for 10 years and have helped more than 9,000 animals.
Recently, they have been able to up the number of lives they are saving thanks to strong relationships with local pet stores and the community as a whole. The involvement in the community is the utmost priority. They host tons of fun events and fundraisers throughout the year for the community to enjoy. From large adoption days to animals parties, there's always a fun event to attend with your pup.
On a day in February at the Waterfront Park in downtown West Palm Beach, join the Peggy Adams Shelter for this awesome dog-friendly event! This is the largest free admissions dog event in the entire community and all of South Florida. There will be thousands of humans and adorable dogs in attendance, treats, games, and so much fun! There will also be a number of animal shelters from communities with dogs and cats up for adoption. This is an event your fur-baby will not want to miss.
On a day in March, join the Peggy Adams shelter for their annual Barry Crown Walk! All of the proceeds from the event go to the animals living at the shelter. At the event, there will be a huge dog walk, free breakfast, pet contests, a silent auction, and a raffle with prizes, and awards for the teams who raised the most money for the day! Each team that raises at least $35 will get a free t-shirt and treats for their dog. All proceeds from the event go to the animals at the shelter. Bring your pup and enjoy this super fun day!
Is there almost anything better than baseball, being outdoors, and being surrounded by your pup and other dogs? You are in luck because in February, you can attend Bark in the Park at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches with your furry best friend. There is a $5 fee for your dog ticket and those funds go to Peggy Adams rescue shelter. The game begins at 1:05 and lasts until around 5:00 pm. Purchase your tickets now!
A bit outside of North Palm Beach is the Jupiter Golden Jubilee Beach Day and Parade! This is an event that is especially for dogs and is held at Jupiter Dog Beach in November. The celebration will last all day and owners of goldens get to meet other pups and owners as they play in the sand and ocean. Snacks will be available in the morning and you should pack your own picnic lunch for the afternoon. The event will have a blessing of the pets, photos, and awards!
This is a special event that is aimed to break the world record for the most amount of people brushing dog's teeth! It takes place at the Riverwalk Events Plaza in January. There will be tons of hoomans and puppers in attendance, meaning lots of new friends to meet! Peggy Adams rescue will have a booth set up with their available dogs and cats are up for adoption, just in case you want to add another fur baby to your family. This is an event that you will not want to miss! Grab your pup and come and beat a world record.
