Give a Wag! Gives to Oakland Park Shelters

Animal Aid Inc. in Oakland Park, Florida is the city's main animal shelter. They are a non-profit animal rescue shelter that has a no-kill policy. Their shelter provides a home to animals that have experienced neglect, abuse, and various emergencies. They also take in dogs and cats from animal control agencies in the surrounding communities. This was all made possible by Tamera, who has dedicated her life to saving helpless animals since 1983.

Their main goal is to help control the overpopulation issue within their community and find all homeless pets safe and loving homes. Working with the community is very important to Tamera and her rescue shelter, so they make it a priority to interact with the community and put on a variety of community events throughout the year. They host events like happy hour for animals, annual brunch fundraisers, bowling events, and tons more.

United Dog Rescue is located just outside of Oakland Park but serves them and the surrounding cities as well. They are 100% no-kill and non-profit. They are a team of dedicated workers and volunteers that have given their lives to saving homeless and unwanted animals and helping them find their perfect forever home, no matter the cost. They also make it a priority to help educate and teach the community about the need to be respectful and kind to all animals. They put on heaps of events throughout the year to help support their shelter and dogs, while simutaneously involving the community in their cause.
