Give a Wag! Gives to Palm Harbor Shelters

Palm Harbor, Florida - just the name sounds sunny, warm, and welcoming. But there's more to Palm Harbor than just the balmy, tropical weather, there's also a deep love for doggos that's taken root here! This Gulf-side paradise has become a haven for the growing dog population, mostly thanks to the shelter activities in the area.

One of the most popular shelters is the Sun Coast Animal League, a non-profit, no-kill, no-time-limit animal welfare agency. This organization cares for hundreds of animals both in their 1,700 square-foot facility and in foster family homes as well. Because of this, they're unable to take in stray animals and can't enforce an open admission policy. Despite this, they've managed to help thousands of animals in their established existence.

Another popular organization is Canine Estates, a tax-exempt, non-profit sanctuary facility that's dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, abused, and injured dogs from high-kill shelters. They don't just rescue them from harm's way, though, they take them in, rehabilitate them, keep them vaccinated, take care of their medical needs, and then find loving, responsible homes for each pup!
