The sugar-white sand, the tropical waters, the bustling beach life -Panama City is the ultimate tropical paradise. But it doesn't just have to be that for you, it can be the ideal living space for your pooch, too! With tons of restaurants, bars, beaches, and more that allow and encourage you to bring your pup, you two will have endless amounts of fun in this community. More than that, the various shelters in the area bring forth a ton of extra pup-entertainment!
One of the top shelters in the area is the Humane Society of Bay County, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that has been active since 1986. Their specialty is taking animals from animal control facilities that are set to be euthanized and accepting pets from people who are no longer able to care for them.
Another shelter, Panama City Beach Paws and Claws (PCB Paws and Claws), is an entirely volunteer-based shelter that saves abandoned and homeless pets, fosters them, and provides services like trapping strays, neutering animals, returning lost dogs and cats, and providing low-cost veterinary care.
Either of these fine establishments would make a fine place to look for your next furry family member!
If you're looking to photograph your pup with the big guy to get the picture perfect Santa Paws moment, fear not, there's plenty of opportunities in Panama City. One of these opportunities, hosted by the Dog Fanciers Association, encourages you to bring your pooch to the Greater Panama City Dog Club Building for photos with Santa and Mrs Claus! For just $10, you and your pooch will receive two 5x7 photos or one 8x10 photo, and CDs are available for an additional $5!
