Doggy Fun Fest is a popular annual celebration of our furry friends and all the things that make them such wonderful companions. Held at Jaco Pistorious Park in Oakland Park, this family festival features live music, kids’ activities, pet adoptions, Notschund races, a play zone for dogs, and heaps more. To top things off, the festival is preceded by Struttin’ For Strays, a 1.25-mile stroll down NE 12th Avenue for pets and their humans. The walk raises much-needed funds for a host of local rescue groups, so grab your pet and start strutting!

Walk for the Animals
Every March, the Humane Society of Broward County hosts its annual Walk for the Animals! This ever-popular and much-anticipated event takes place at Huizenga Plaza in Fort Lauderdale, and it raises funds to help the society provide shelter, aid, and responsible adoptions to the animals in its care. The 1.25-mile walk draws thousands of dog lovers and their furry friends, plus the event also features dozens of sponsor booths stocking goodies for your pooch, live entertainment, and a kids’ zone for young walkers. There’s no registration fee needed to participate, but this is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraising event of the year, so everyone is encouraged to raise funds!

That’s the basic premise of Doggie Palooza, a dog-friendly festival that takes place in Plantation in January.
