Every March, the Humane Society of Broward County hosts its annual Walk for the Animals! This ever-popular and much-anticipated event takes place at Huizenga Plaza in Fort Lauderdale, and it raises funds to help the society provide shelter, aid, and responsible adoptions to the animals in its care. The 1.25-mile walk draws thousands of dog lovers and their furry friends, plus the event also features dozens of sponsor booths stocking goodies for your pooch, live entertainment, and a kids’ zone for young walkers. There’s no registration fee needed to participate, but this is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraising event of the year, so everyone is encouraged to raise funds!
