We loved boarding our dogs with Christy! She was amazing and took great care of them. Christy and her husband have a beautiful home and a great yard for the dogs to run around in! We boarded four dogs with them and they all had a great time. Every photo and video we received was full of love and affection between the dogs and Christy and her husband. We will definitely be keeping in touch with them and using their boarding and sitting services for all future vacations we took. (We boarded our dogs for 8 days with them)

Pet Expo
Looking for an afternoon of light-hearted fun with your pet and plenty of other dog lovers? Pompano Citi Centre’s Pet Expo is just the event for you! Held in February in the shopping center’s courtyard, this paw-some annual expo promises hours of entertainment for you and your furry friend. There are pet adoptions and pet health care advice available on the day, but the big highlight is the much-anticipated pet costume contest! You can also pucker up for some smooches at the puppy kissing booth, enjoy live music, and treat the kids to a carousel ride. Admission is free and leashed pets are welcome to attend.

Dog Show
It’s furry, it’s fabulous, it’s fun, and it raises much-needed funds for a very good cause! This popular annual dog show, held to benefit the Florida Humane Society, always sells out. Held at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club, it provides plenty of dog-friendly entertainment for you and your furry friend. The highlight is the adorable pet costume contest which features categories for the best-dressed dogs, best pup and companion look-alike, smallest dog, largest dog, best dog trick, and dress-alike. Other highlights include a delicious luncheon, mom & dog fashion show, yappy hour cocktails, and a dog fair featuring the latest in food, fashion, training, and services for your canine. Make sure you get your tickets early so you don’t miss out!

Dogs, Beaches and Brews
If you love going to the beach, socializing, and enjoying a brew or two almost as much as you love your pet, this could be the paw-fect event for you! Held in December, this dog-friendly yappy hour is well worth attending. After taking your pooch to the dog-friendly beach in Fort Lauderdale for some swimming and socializing, you can then head over to the World Famous Parrot Lounge for a refreshing drink or two. There are loads of food and drink specials to sample, and Everglades Angels Dog Rescue offers some grrr-eat raffle prizes and 50/50 raffles! Admission is free, but making a donation to Everglades Angels Dog Rescue will score you a free drink.

Charlie's Friends Pet Walk and Rescue Benefit
Searching for a day full of outdoor fun for the whole family, including your pet? Charlie’s Friends Pet Walk and Rescue Benefit is just the ticket! Held at the Pompano Four Fields Complex, this woof-tastic fundraiser supports local animal rescue groups and Rotary community projects. Kids, adults, and fur babies are all invited to attend this free event, which features a half-mile pet walk followed by a paw-some pet festival. Highlights include live music, adoptable pets, a dog agility zone, pet fashion show, food and beverage vendors, dog cool zone, and plenty more to keep tails wagging all day long!
Doggy Fun Fest & Struttin' For Strays
If you’re looking for a day full of dog-friendly fun and games, make sure to mark this event down in your diary for the year ahead. Struttin’ For Strays is a relaxed 1.25-mile walk for pets and owners that starts and ends at Jaco Pastorius Park in Oakland Park. It raises essential funds for a host of local rescue organizations and then leads you and your pooch to the paw-some surroundings of the Doggy Fun Fest. This canine celebration features live entertainment, doggy contests, grrr-eat prizes and giveaways, an agility course, and something to please animal lovers of all ages.
