Fur Ball
Get out your tuxes and polish those noses, the annual Fur Ball is back! This event, in its 14th year, is a chic, pet-welcome gala that's hosted by the Humane Society of St. Lucie to benefit their shelter. You and your pooch can dress to the nines in your pawsitively best version of Hawaiian casual, the theme for the night. This is the largest fundraiser the shelter puts on and will include pre-dinner cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, casino-style gambling, and both a live and silent auction. The best part? You and your pup can go together, enjoy the festivities, and meet other pooches as well! Join the rest of the St. Lucie canines in a night you'll always remember, and help support the pets in your community while you're at it!36
Paws in the Park
The annual Paws in the Park event is an to-do that's close to the city's heart, so having it right before Valentine's Day would only make sense. Hosted by the St. Lucie Humane Society, you and your canine companion can join hundreds of other pups and pawrents for a fundraising walk through the park, with all funds going toward pets in the community. Not only will there be a fundraising pup-walk, but also a k9 demonstration, an adoption RV with tons of pooches, food, contests, and more!You and your pup won't want to miss this annual event in the park. You'll bond with your pooch, meet new friends, and raise money for a good cause all at once!

Puppy Parks
It wouldn't be right if a city didn't provide a host of puppy parks for your pooch to play in, and luckily, St. Lucie is on-target with a few of their own unique, fun places!One of the most pawpular spots is the Lynngate Dog Park. With separated parks for dogs of different sizes, plenty of shade, and lush grass for your pooches to play in, it's a bark-tacular choice for pups in the area!
Another perfect play place for your pooch is the Oak Hammock Park in PSL. While it doesn't offer a designated spot for your canine compadre to zip about without a leash, there's a lengthy dog-walking trail along the C-24 canal available for pooches who like a long adventure.

Sandy Paws
Do you have a pup that prefers sand between their paws over plain, old grass? Does your pooch crave the ocean waves? Luckily, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the city of PSL is the best dog beach in the area, Walton Rocks Beach! Though technically in Jensen, this beach is worth the extra head-out-the-window-time in the car because it's a beach just for puppers! It's one of the only off-leash doggie beaches in the area, and it attracts hundreds of visitors every day! You and your doggo can frolic in the waves, sprint through the sand, and meet tons of other beachgoing pups. Don't forget to clean up after your pup!
Sandi Paws Pet and People Parade
If you and your pup can't get enough of being part of the action, drive a few minutes over to the neighboring city of Fort Pierce for its annual Sandi Paws Pet & People Walk-a-thon Pet Parade (that's quite the mouthful!) You'll find a fun-filled day with pet vendors, pet parades, a doggie fashion show, music, and other activities. This annual event started small but has grown so much over time that about 5,000 pooches (along with their pawrents) now attend the festival. Hosted by Paws-N-Claws, this event will also feature a celebration honoring patriots, veterans, armed forces, and law enforcement. You can even donate to the pet food pantry or bring toys for the pet toy collection drive!
