Tis the season to ring in the holidays with an adorable, Christmas event with your pooch and the Humane Society of Polk County has made sure you'll have that opportunity! Grab your four-legged friend, and maybe even some two-legged friends, and join all the local canines down at Jensen's Corner Bar for a festive night of holiday fun! You and your pooch will enjoy live holiday entertainment, signature cocktails, puppy treats, appetizers, and a raffle - all while raising money for the pups-in-need of Polk County.36
Bark in the Park
Time to get your bark on, pups! Join the annual Bark in the Park event in Winter Haven's downtown Main Street. Watch as it is transformed into puppy paradise, complete with pet-friendly vendors, live music, delicious doggo foods (and human foods too), drinks and more. This free event is a yearly tradition that you and your pooch won't want to miss! Remember to mark it on your calendar for next spring.24
Pup Parks
We're sure your pooch loves a good carnival or pup fundraiser, but sometimes you just have to let Fido off his leash and be a dog. Luckily, Winter Haven has plenty of places you and your canine buddy can do so. Check out the Simmers-Young Park, a local pup favorite that features plenty of shade, lots of space to run, and seating for the humans, too. This park has divided dog areas for both big mutts and tiny pooches. Make sure to clean up after your doggo when you're at the dog park! The Bark Park at Veterinary Healthcare Associates is another great choice for a fun place to go with your doggo. This park requires a bit more effort to get in, though, as you must sign a release of liability from your vet and provide current vaccination updates.12

If you've got yourself a pup that's a fiend for food and you hate leaving him at home while you dine on delicious, local treats, Winter Haven has plenty of dog-friendly and dog-encouraged restaurants for you and your canine to enjoy! Some fan favorites are The Fire Restaurant, Saigon Garden, and Woody's Bar-B-Q. These spots have lovely patio seating that welcomes four-legged guests and will make sure to provide them with water bowls while you dine on yummy eats.
Too Cute To Spook Paw Spooktacular
If you and your pooch are always looking for a good spook, look no further than this festive Halloween event in Winter Haven! This Spooktacular event is the ultimate pup Fall Festival for you and your four-legged friend. With pet treats, pet costumes, a pumpkin patch to explore, raffles, photo ops, and more, you won't want to miss it! It's free to attend this event, but you and your pooch will be helping a worthy cause if you decide to donate. All proceeds from the festival will go to benefit Oscars Cause pet financial assistance program.
