The staff, volunteers and foster families of Paws Atlanta believe that dogs and people need each other; when a loving dog and a loving family come together, everyone is happier! Paws Atlanta is located at 5287 Covington Highway in Decatur, Georgia. This rescue is open 7 days a week. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Have you been thinking about expanding your furry family for a while now? If yes, why not choose one of Paws Atlanta’s little love bugs to join your family? Adopting a pet is a forever commitment and requires patience and a whole lot of love. If you fit that bill, the staff at Paws Atlanta can’t wait to hear from you. Just think, your new little furry family member is waiting to meet you and fall in love!
Besides being the temporary home to dogs awaiting their forever homes, Paws Atlanta also offers many services to the general public and their pets such as a low-cost dental clinic, a bi-monthly pet wellness clinic, weekend dog training classes, full-time vet services, low-cost spay/neuter and medications and a pet food bank for low income families! They also run senior assistance programs as well as summer camps where kids can come and learn how to interact, guide and love all the canines in their lives. All of these amazing and necessary programs require significant funds to keep going and that is where animal lovers like you come in.
The rescue receives no government funding of any kind, so donations are always needed and greatly appreciated. There is also the option of “planned giving” which is monetary donation after you pass away. Isn’t that a wonderful legacy to leave behind? Do you work at a pet-friendly company? Would your company consider becoming a sponsor of the rescue or making any charitable, tax-deductible donation?
You could also give any spare time you had to help the staff at Paws Atlanta do their many daily tasks such as cleaning, clerical work, playing and exercising the dogs, transporting pets to and from the vet or from adoption events and so, so much more. Any help the dedicated, hard-working staff can get from loving volunteers is an immeasurable gift to them and to the dogs!
Another way to help is by becoming a foster paw-rent to one of the dogs at the rescue. By doing this, you are not only providing that dog with love, care and guidance, but you are also freeing up a spot at the rescue for another dog to be cared for, fed and loved by the staff while they await their forever home.
If you are driving by Paws Atlanta, stop in for a visit and tell the staff you appreciate all they do. You may just find your new best friend here!
