As first time wag users my wife and I were a little anxious as our babies only boarded over night with family members. Clarissa is a dream come true! Je Lyne is the sweetest person, lovable soul and my dog clung to her very well! I packed my dog with food and snacks and everything was just about used up which was the goal! Je Lyne went on hikes, played with Lola (my dog) so much!! Cuddled her at night the love I would give my dog, is what Je Lyne showed and I m forever thankful for this caregiver!!! Holiday Movie Night on West Ponce
Don't you love to snuggle up and watch a good movie with your pupper? Well, come on out and join the Decatur community, their families and their well-behaved, leashed pups for the holiday classic, "It's a Wonderful Life". Don't forget your chairs and blankets (and a thermos full of hot cocoa for you and some water for your furry friend) and settle in for a few hours of movie magic. This time of year can be so hectic; you need a few hours to relax! So unwind and enjoy the big screen with your best pal.36
Tree Lighting/Grand Menorah Lighting
The holiday season is such a great time of year! Peace and goodwill fill the air - not to mention thousands and thousands of twinkling, colorful Christmas lights! Bring the whole family for this dog-friendly event and watch as the man himself - Santa flips the switch to illuminate the holiday tree high atop that Little Shop of Stories on November 30th. Caroling, cocoa and lots of warm memories await you! Also, please join the community as they light the Grand Menorah on the square to designate the start of Chanukah in December.24
Run with the Dogs 5k and 1 Mile Pup Trot
On your mark, get set - fetch! This annual Decatur tradition is a great time to come out with your furry friends and run or walk, or a combination of the two, and get some fresh air! The event takes place in January at Decatur High School. Come on out and mingle with other dog parents and their pups! Awards will be given to first place finishers in all categories and your little furry athlete will receive a spiffy new doggy bandana for participating. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Lace up those sneakers and grab Fido's leash (and don't forget the poop bags) and let's go!12
Santa on the Square
Decatur's Small Business Saturday is proud to bring you Santa on the Square every November! Bundle up the whole family - including a well-behaved, 6-foot leashed Fido, and come and meet Santa! Make sure you bring your wish list too! Please clean up after your doggy while you are on the Square - Santa's elves will be watching you and you don't want to be put on the naughty list, do you? There will be yummy baked cookies, milk and hot cocoa. Be sure to bring your camera or cell phone and get your picture with the man himself! Happy Pawlidays to all!
The Decatur Lantern Parade
The Decatur Education Foundation is proud to sponsor this annual family-friendly, dog-friendly community event to celebrate the coming of summer and the child in everyone! You can either make your own lantern or contact the foundation for a lantern crafting workshop and create your masterpiece there. Join in the celebration with your pooch by your side and light the night as you and hundreds of others wind your way to Decatur Square accompanied by some great brass bands!
