The Society Garden

Bring the whole family, the wife, the hubs, the kids and your furry leashed kid, and head down to the Society Garden for a delicious meal, family-friendly atmosphere and a great time! It is located in historic Ingleside Village. Come on into the beer garden and choose from craft or domestic brews, some delicious wine, cider, sodas, coffees, popcorn or ice cream - or a little of it all! There is a large, fenced area for your family and your pup to hang out in and just enjoy time together.  Come play some horseshoes, play in the sandbox, play some ping pong, enjoy live music and relax!

National Dog Day

For us dog lovers, every day is national dog day but officially, it is celebrated in August - so mark your calendar to check specific dates nearer to that time! There are many places you and your pup can go and celebrate this great day in Macon! One of the area's many dog parks is a great first stop, of course, and Tattnall Square Park is great for people and their pups. Have a picnic on the lawn and just chill out with your furry friend or play some frisbee or fetch. Tattnall Square Park is located across from Mercer University. If you want to walk some trails, head to Ocmulgee Heritage Trail with Fido or Fifi. Be sure to always clean up after your pet! Spending time with your furry son or daughter on National Dog Day is a must and there are plenty of places to do that around Macon!

Lake Tobesofkee

Lake Tobesofkee recreational area consists of three separate parks - Claystone, Sandy Beach and Arrowhead. You can fish, camp, boat, picnic, swim, hike and just chill with your whole family (including your leashed, furry family members). Slow down your life for a day and head to one of the three parks with your fam. Take in some fresh air and spend some quality time with the ones who matter most! Be sure to always be a good paw parent (aka pawrent) and clean up after your furry friend while inside any of the parks.

Lane Southern Orchards

Bring the whole family, including your well-behaved leashed pup, and head to nearby Fort Valley, Georgia for some of the freshest peaches you will ever taste! You can even tour the peach orchard or pecan fields in-season!  Lane Southern Orchards has a true southern feel from the white, Amish rocking chairs to the homemade peach and pecan candies, jellies, salsas, pastries and ice creams! If you live anywhere near Lane Southern Orchards or if your travels bring you nearby, it is definitely worth the stop!

Main Street Macon Christmas Parade

Every December, the streets of downtown Macon come alive in bright, festive hues of red, green and gold to welcome the holiday season! Your leashed, well-behaved furbaby is welcome to join you and the whole family for the festivities. Come early and get a prime seat for the parade's many entries - civic organizations, churches, bands, floats and did we mention, Santa himself? Bring your own chair and get comfy as you literally watch the parade pass you by! Catch up with friends and neighbors and celebrate the joys of the season with the whole community. Be sure to clean up after your pup.
