Hi, I’m Anna! I have always been a lover of dogs and grew up with a goldendoodle. I would love to have a dog of my own one day, but unfortunately being a pilot in the Air Force isn’t quite flexible enough for that. SO I would love to get to spend time with your dogs! I love doing outdoorsy things like hiking and skiing and am a huge reader. I cannot wait to meet your dog and give them some love!

The Humane Society of Valdosta/Lowndes County all began with good people. When good people meet good dogs, you get a happily ever after, but unfortunately, that doesn't always happen. We all know that bad people happen to good dogs far too often; the trick is to have animal-loving advocates to wade through all the bad and find the good. It is then, and only then, that the staff at the Humane Society of Valdosta/Lowndes County will rest. If they expect a dog came from an abusive environment, they will thoroughly investigate it and make sure the wrongdoer is brought to justice.
All dogs are welcome at HSVLC, including the homeless, hungry, stray, old, young, sick, abandoned, and neglected. They all deserve their happily ever after. Maybe your new best friend is waiting for you at HSVLC. Come in and meet their furry friends in person, attend an adoption event or check out the website for their adoptable sweethearts!
HSVLS is a non-profit private organization and they run solely on donations from animal lovers like you, adoption fees and fundraisers. These monies not only keep the dogs safe, warm and fed but they also fund the numerous outreach programs provided by HSVLS. Their programs include a low-cost spay and neuter program, educational programs on proper care of animals, how to identify signs of abuse in animals and a trap/neuter/release program for the area's feral cat population.
If you aren't able to adopt right now, HSVLS hopes you will consider volunteering some of your time to help them care for their furry friends. There are so many jobs that need taken care of every day! Or maybe, you would like to foster one of HSVLS' dogs at your house while you decide whether you are ready for a lifelong doggy commitment. When you foster one of their pets, you are opening up a new spot for another homeless animal to wait for his forever family to adopt him, so essentially you are saving two lives by your act of kindness.

Fido needs to go for a walk - why not join him and take him to the Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area? The walking path is located on a wooden boardwalk and offers lots of places to rest and have a quick bite to eat. Be sure to take plenty of water, some doggy doo-doo bags and your sense of adventure! Bring your camera in case you cross paths with area wildlife like deer, fox, shorebirds, ducks and even alligators (don't worry - they will be in the water far beneath the boardwalk). You will be surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque views. Please be sure to keep your dog on his leash along the boardwalk and clean up after him along the way. Let's take a walk! Fresh air, exercise and time with man's (and woman's) best friend! A pawfect day!
