Mark your calendar - each November after Thanksgiving to the Saturday before Christmas downtown Valdosta celebrates the 12 Days of Christmas! Catch up with friends and neighbors, do some window shopping, drink some cocoa, listen to some holiday classics and ring in the season with the whole family. Your leashed pupper is welcome to join you (no retractable leashes and be sure to clean up after him/her)! There will be a new event each day - how fun! Georgia Arbor Day Community Event
Arbor Day is the national holiday where people all over the country plant a tree to assure future generations free air and green spaces. Be a part of the celebration and contact the public information office to be assigned a green space to plant your tree or shrub within the city limits. Valdosta-Lowndes Azalea Festival
Be sure to check out the annual regional azalea festival at Drexel Park each March! The whole family is welcome, including leashed, furry family members (no retractable leashes permitted for safety purposes)! This will be two blissful, fun-filled days of blooms, music, craft vendors, car shows, kid-friendly activities, frisbee and lumberjack events, birds of prey shows, delicious foods as well as a bike ride and a 5k race.
