Dog Boarding in Woodstock

Woodstock, Georgia, is a suburb that is just north of Atlanta. Being in such close proximity to a major city means that the suburb faces an issue with the homeless animal population. Fortunately, the area is home to a number of different animal rescue organizations that help take animals off of the streets and provide them with shelter, food, and care.

Refuge Rescue is a non-profit organization that opened in August 2015 with the goal of getting as many cats and dogs out of high kill shelters as possible to give them another chance at finding a home. The organization also seeks to educate the community about the high-kill shelters in the area and about responsible pet ownership. The organization hopes that their efforts will lead more people to spay and neuter their pets, as well as get proper heartworm and flea preventatives.

The Cherokee County Humane Society is one of the oldest humane societies in Georgia, with more than 40 years of servicing the Cherokee County area. The organization’s mission is called SAAVE, which stands for Save, Adopt, Alter, Vaccinate, and Educate. To realize its mission, the Cherokee County Humane Society brings in homeless animals, provides them with vaccinations and spays or neuters all unfixed animals that come into the shelter. Then, the organization tries to find new homes for the animals and educates the public on responsible pet ownership.

If you are looking for a new pet in the Woodstock area, visit with Refuge Rescue or the Cherokee County Humane Society.
