Strut Your Mutt
Celebrate National Dog Day at Pawtriots Park in Woodstock each August. From 10 am to 1 pm, you and your dog can spend the day enjoying some sun in the great outdoors! During the event, there will be contests that you and your dog can participate in for prizes, such as the Best Barker and Best Dressed competitions. There will be a Yappy Hour station with free Frosty Paws for your dog to enjoy. Browse through pet products at the vendor booths as well.
Half of all proceeds will go to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. Ticket prices will become available closer to the event date, and pre-registration is required for attendance, so make sure you get your tickets early!

Rescue Dog Olympics
Head over to Brook Run Park in Atlanta on a Saturday in March for the Rescue Dog Olympics! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a day of dog games, green beer, and all kinds of fun with your pooch. There will be a St. Paw-trick’s Day Costume Contest with great prizes, and the Pet Rescue Fashion Show is a must-see event. Dog art projects are a fun way to commemorate this event, so be sure to participate in some of those activities!
Browse through pet vendors and speak with rescues from the area. There will also be adoptable dogs on-site.
Admission is free.

Woofstock
Take the short drive to Smyrna Market Village for the annual Woofstock celebration in September. The annual occurrence of the event is projected to see more than 40,000 attendees, and you and your dog will want to be part of it!
Take part in fun contests, visit pet vendor booths, enjoy great food from local food trucks, and listen to live music. There will be adoptable pups on-site, too, so stop by to say hi!
Each May, the same event also takes place at Suwanee Town Center Park.

Atlanta Pet Expo
Join other pets and pet owners at the Atlanta Pet Expo during March! Held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, this free event is one you won’t want to miss. There will be dozens of vendors selling items for both pets and humans. The costume contest is a fun way to get involved with the event, and you could even take home some great prizes!
The event features giveaways with prizes for both humans and pets. Your dog or cat could also get a free nail trim and discounted vaccinations, microchipping, or flea and heartworm prevention during the expo!
Woofapalooza
You and your dog are sure to enjoy browsing through vendor booths and socializing with other dogs and people from the area! You can also get professional fall photographs taken of your pooch or of your whole family during the event. Enjoy great food and drinks, and snag your pupper a few great treats! Participate in the auctions for a chance to take home some great items.
The event takes place from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Admission is $10 per person or a bag of dog food. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cherokee County Humane Society and Georgia Canines for Independence.
