2k Dog Walk Benefit
Head over to the University of Northern Iowa for the 2k Dog Walk Benefit each October with your dog to help raise money for the Cedar Bend Humane Society to purchase food, toys, and medical care for the animals at the shelter!
Admission is $10 per person, and each participant will receive dog treats for your pup, a cookie to munch on yourself, and a bottle of water to keep you hydrated. Random prizes will be handed out during the event as well!
The run takes place at the Campanile on the University of Northern Iowa campus from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Furry 5k Run/Walk
Each May, the Cedar Bend Humane Society hosts its annual Furry 5k Run/Walk to help raise money to continue care for homeless animals in the community. From 7:30 am to 9:30 am, humans and their dogs can participate in a 5k run/walk event at Big Woods Lake.
If you don’t have a dog, but still want to participate, you can walk a shelter dog from the Cedar Bend Humane Society!
Each year, around 200 people participate in the Furry 5k Run/Walk. The registration fees for this event are $25 per person when participants register early. Registration includes a t-shirt and tote bag. Late registration prices are $30 per person and shirts are not guaranteed.

Doggie Dip
For a fun evening of swimming with your dog, head over to The Fall Aquatic Center in Cedar Falls each August for the Doggie Dip event! Prepare to get wet as you swim with your pup from 6 pm to 8 pm. with a whole bunch of local pooches. You won’t want to miss out on the last swim of the season with your dog!
Admission is $5 per dog. Each additional owner is $4 each. All dogs must have a least one and up to three owners present during the event, and at least one must be an adult. Season swim passes are not valid for this event.

Bark for Life
Join the American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life event to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Each May, you can participate in Bark for Life at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls! During this event, you will participate in the walk, and then you can listen to a survivor speech, shop at pet-friendly vendor booths, join in on the silent auction, and watch pet demonstrations.
This event runs from 9 am to 11 am, and the registration fee is $10 per dog. Each registered dog will receive a doggie bag full of dog products and a Bark for Life bandana!
Paw Park
For a fun afternoon with your dog, head over to Paw Park Dog Park! This dog park has separate areas for both small and large dogs to keep your dog as safe as possible while playing in the park. With over three acres of land, there is plenty of room to run in both the small and large dog areas. The entire park is fenced in for safety for animals.
There is also a heated restroom and water fountains on-site!
An annual pass for use of the Paw Park facility is $15 per dog. If you want a day pass, they are available for $2 per dog.
