Give a Wag! Gives to Carol Stream Shelters

Anderson Animal Shelter has been serving the animals and people of Carol Stream, IL and the surrounding Fox Valley area for more than 50 years! Originally founded in 1966 as the Humane Society of North Central Illinois, the shelter's mission is to improve the lives of pets and people through service, advocacy, and education.

Services offered by the shelter include adoptions, low-cost spay and neuter clinics, dog training programs, pet rehoming, humane education, and community outreach programs. Their dedicated, life-saving efforts steer us closer to their vision of every pet happy and healthy. Anderson Animal Shelter is committed to making the community stronger and healthier for the people and pets that live there by getting stray and unwanted animals into loving, responsible homes.

Conversely, the organization depends on the generosity of volunteers, staff, animal adopters, local businesses, foster caregivers, and community members to reach their mission. All of the actions and operations of the shelter are founded around 4 major principles: a"no-kill" philosophy, positive reinforcement in training and enrichment, welcoming comfortable facilities, and animal welfare partnerships. Anderson Animal Shelter's compassionate programs and services help more than 3,000 homeless animals every year!

The lost, stray, unwanted, and neglected animals of Carol Stream also have a refuge with DuPage County Animal Care and Control. The county organization is devoted to looking out for the health, happiness, and safety of the area's homeless animals and striving to place each dog and cat they care for into responsible, loving forever homes. Their services include rescuing and sheltering animals in need, an adoption program, rabies vaccination registration, public education programs, enforcing animal welfare and control laws, and animal welfare advocacy.

The DuPage County Animal Care and Control department is an open admission shelter that cares for thousands of homeless animals annually with a central goal of giving every animal they can a second chance at life.
