I've always been around animals and dogs since I could walk, and when I was old enough to work I knew there would be no better fit than working with animals! I have volunteered at a shelter and worked professionally with animals in a retail environment. Due to a heavy school schedule I had to leave that job but now that Wag! exists I can still work with pups!

My name is Patrick & I live in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. I've had dogs & cats my whole life, currently having a 17 year old calico named Jadzia. Love my doggies too but Jadzia doesn’t approve so I make up for it by dog sitting for friends & family, as well as taking volunteer opportunities. On top of that, I love being outside & walking, even when the weather isn't so great.

I am a semi retired professional with a passion for animals. Growing up on a farm in North Carolina I was exposed to a lot of dogs: hunting dogs, house dogs, guard dogs, herding dogs, etc. The advantage of living on the farm was that you got to play with the working animals when they weren’t working and I spent a lot of time with dogs learning valuable lessons of how they interact with people and other animals and how they think. All through my life I have been around dogs and cats. I have owned three dogs of my own and have had relationships with other dogs belonging to roommates housemates and neighbors. I am very attuned to the challenges of having a pet in the city and understand the importance of seeing that the animals get the proper attention and care. Caring for dogs is not just a job for me it’s a passion and it’s important that I give each dog I encounter the same attention that I would give my own dog.

Dog Boarding in Chicago

The Windy City is ushering in the winds of change - it's truly a city that's gone to the dogs! We know what you're thinking, Chicago is famous for its sweeping skylines,  The Bears, and deep dish pizza. But now, Chicago is moving toward the top of the pet-friendliest cities list, and with a growing database of dog-friendly establishments and pup-specific events, it's not hard to believe that it'll make the top ten dog-friendliest places in the next few years.

This movement will only be further supported by Chicago's already established doggo organizations, shelters, societies, and rescues.
PAWS Chicago is one of the most popular in the city. The PAWS priority is to build, and continue to build, no-kill communities! They've helped reduce the number of pets killed in Chicago by over 80 percent. They even helped 5,125 pets find fur-ever homes in 2016 alone. Through adoption programs, fostering, spay and neuter procedures, and community engagements, PAWS is dedicated to reducing the number of pups killed every year!

Of course, other establishments like Chicago Canine Rescue, Lake Shore Animal Shelter, and the Anti-Cruelty Society are doing their part for the Chicago pups as well!
