I grew up with a Collie named Elsa and in the many years since have become close friends with Maggie, Phoebe, Molly, Mazie, Max, Lacy, Clover and other dogs who have lived in the families of my friends. I love to walk (being very much like a dog in that respect) and I love spending time with dogs. I look forward to going on some great walks with your best friend.

Hello, my name is Robert and I have been working with dogs for the last year and a half at a dog hotel. While there I’ve been taught how to work with dogs and have worked with many different breeds. I have a Labrador/Jack russel mix and believe me, he is a bundle full of energy. I look forward to getting to know your pup and making sure he has a fully interactive and healthy walk. My ultimate goal is to make sure he/she is well excercised and a happy dog.

“They call me the dog whisperer!”

Hello! My name is Jamie Shriner and I am a dog lover originally from Northwest Indiana. I have over 8 years experience as a dog sitter as well as a nanny, including work with my local animal shelter to re-socialize abused and traumatized dogs. Many pet parents have expressed concerns about their dog “not liking outsiders,” and I have always been able to ultimately gain the dog’s trust. I look forward to getting in your pup’s good graces and providing them excellent care!

I love dogs! I know most profiles say that but I really do. They are loyal, smart, fun loving energetic and also wonderful friends. I treat my pets like members of the family. And I will gladly treat yours like family. I have been around pets my whole life. I also volunteered at WSHS for 4 years, so I have lots of hands-on experience with different breeds of dogs. I currently have a German shepherd-pit mix of my own. I look forward to working with you and your dog.

Dog Boarding in Chicago Heights

South Suburban Humane Society is dedicated to taking care of homeless and abandoned pets in the suburbs of Chicago, including Chicago Heights. They care for and shelter pets and animals who are in need of a home, investigate ways to prevent animal abuse in the community and educate the public about pet ownership duties and the responsibility of taking care of animals at home.

They opened their doors in 1970, and ever since, they have been operating a 10,000 square foot shelter facility and opens their door to all animals that come to them. They help an average of around 6,000 animals per year! They have a combination of paid employees and volunteers that help run this massive rescue shelter.

They encourage residents of the community to donate if possible, and better yet, become a foster parent to the shelter or volunteer at their shelter facility. They are committed to helping teach and educate the community about proper animal treatment, how to take care of a dog, and the importance of keeping Chicago Heights and the surrounding community of pets safe, happy, and supported.

Furthermore, they host a heap of dog-friendly events throughout the year and hold numerous fundraisers to help raise money for the animals in their shelter. They also provide low-cost animal services, like spaying and neutering, so help keep overpopulations of dogs and cats under control.
