Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets (H.E.L.P.) is one non-profit that provides veterinary care and unconditional love to the animals in need throughout the community. Until they are adopted into their loving fur-ever homes, the cats and dogs experience the highest level of care and love provided by the compassionate and hard-working veterinarians and volunteers at the shelter. Animals are placed in caring foster homes so that they can experience individual attention and training until they transition to a healthy and secure home.
Just down the road in South Elgin is Anderson Animal Shelter, another non-profit making the world a better place four paws at a time. Anderson Animal Shelter is unique in that it partners with shelters in areas where over-population of homeless pets is a larger problem. This dedicated shelter opens its doors to pets from all over in order to open more space in shelters that may be overcrowded.
