Santa PAWS is coming to Chesterton Feed & Garden Center in nearby Chesterton, Indiana! Bring your furry friend in for a snapshot with Santa and get a treasured keepsake photo in a holiday frame. Donations will go to Best Buddies Pet Pantry, a wonderful organization that assists families and pets in need. If Fido is not animal-friendly, it's no problem. The elves will clear the area of all other pups (cats, pigs, etc.) and pet parents so your pup can get some one-on-one time with the Big Man himself. Don't forget to slip Santa your pet's Christmas list!

Annual Rudolph Family Fun 5K Run/Walk

Bring the whole family, furry and non-furry members, and join in on the reindeer games before the walk/run! This event will take place in nearby Kokomo, Indiana and will start at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library and through Foster Park. Walk, run or just join in on the festive fun! Once everyone makes their way back to the library after the race, you can enjoy some hot cocoa and snacks. Door prizes will be given out for wonderful gifts, including a Garmin Forerunner, and other trophies will be awarded. Participants' admission fee covers a medal for the first 350 finishers, a blinking Rudolph nose, reindeer antlers, snacks, water and a long-sleeve t-shirt!

No Bones About it!  Bone Appetit Bakery in nearby Nashville Indiana is THE place for all things "treat". Bring Fido in for some free samples and a bottomless water bowl. There are over 20 flavors of premium, all-natural dog treats. If Fido has tummy or allergy issues, Bone Appetit Bakery also has gluten free and grain free treats as well! Delphi Historic Trails-Wbash 7 Erie Canal Trail

The Delphi Historic Trails are multi-use trails preserved from a historic canal towpath - it is the PAWFECT place to walk your furry canine friends! This 9.8-mile winding boardwalk, made of concrete and crushed stone is ideal for jogging, walking, running and biking and is wheelchair accessible. Remember t share the trail with your fellow trail warriors. Don't forget to stay hydrated and always do your doody duty and clean up after Fido! Delphi was once a canal boomtown, back in 1828. As you walk the trail, you will pass by several monuments from that era, including the restored iron bridge (from 1873) and replicas of a limekiln, warehouse and boathouses from the 1850s. Exercise, fresh air and history all rolled into one!

Sugar Creek Trail - Crawfordsville, Indiana

Sugar Creek Trail is one of 1600 trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. Previously an unused railroad corridor, now this route is a paw-somely paw-fect place to walk Fido!  This 3.7 miles of asphalt and crushed stone winds through Crawfordsville, wooded parks and cultivated fields. Be sure to bring your camera in case you cross path with some of the area's wildlife. Please do not pick the wildflowers along your route and remember to stay safe and hydrated. Always be a considerate pet parent and clean up after your dog! Get some fresh air in your lungs and share some one on one time with your best furry pal!
