Kansas City Pet Expo
Join other pet lovers and their animals for the annual Kansas City Pet Expo each March. This two-day event is free for all guests, including both dogs and cats!
During the event, there will be a ton of exhibitors selling products and services related to pets. You will be able to enter prize giveaways geared toward humans and their pets. Watch agility and obedience demonstrations, as well as other live entertainment! Adoptable pets will be on-site looking for new homes as well.
Come down to Hale Arena during March for a pup-tastic time. On Saturday, the event runs from 10 to 5. Sunday’s hours are 11 to 4.

Paws in the Park
Drive on down to Topeka each April for a fun, dog-filled day at the Paws in the Park event! With activities for the whole family, you will enjoy meeting other dog lovers and their wonderful pooches. During the event, children can play on inflatables, you can browse through vendor booths, and you can enter your pupper into fun contests! There will also be food available.
Registration is only $25, which includes a bag, dog bandana, and an event t-shirt. General admission is only $15. Children 16 and younger are free. Proceeds go to the Helping Hands Humane Society to help care for more homeless and abused animals.

Downtown Dog’s Night Out
Downtown Overland Park goes to the dogs one night each year. During May’s Local Life 3rd Friday event, dogs are invited to spend a night out on the town with their owners! There will be live music playing on the clock tower patio, great food specials, and all kinds of great, canine goodies.
Enter the raffle for a chance to win one of three gift baskets full of awesome items for both dogs and humans. Tickets for the raffle are just $5. All proceeds from the raffle go to the Great Plains SPCA.
All dogs must be leashed. Bright orange window decals will let you know where your pup is allowed to enter.

Dog-N-Jog
Get out to the Country Club Plaza with your pooch for the annual Dog-N-Jog event! The annual run consists of both a one- and two-mile course, as well as a one-mile walk and even a wiener dog dash! Each year, around 900 people show up to the event with their pups at their sides.
In addition to the races, there will be vendor booths set up, a photo-booth to get great photos with your pet, and a pet caricaturist. There will also be contests that you and your pet can enter for a chance to win prizes. Don’t miss out on the raffle either!
This event takes place every June. Exact dates, times, and fees will be released closer to the event.
Barktoberfest
Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park is home to the annual Barktoberfest in Shawnee Mission each October. During this festive event, there will be all kinds of great activities for both you and your canine companion! The morning kicks off at 10 am with an hour of Doggy Yoga followed by a Positive Reinforcement Demonstration. You won’t want to miss the 2 pm Doggy Fashion Show. At 3 pm, there is a super-fun Wiener Dog Race!
With music and pooches around all day, you are bound to have a great time—and so will your dog!
The night ends at 9 pm for this free event, so you will get a full day of fun.
